Smallest food portions in NoVa. Stingiest owner on planet. I don’t know what happened to this spot, used to be good last few years, but I went in today and was shocked to find the chicken portions were tiny baby size and way too salty and the side dishes were so small it had me laughing. I purchased a 1/2 chicken with 2 sides for myself and couldn’t believe how little food they gave me for $12.40 at a fast food spot. It was unbelievable. I asked the kid at the counter for more sweet potato fries and he directed me to another kid who was the manager. The kid manager said his boss has them weighing the amount of food they put on the plates so they don’t accidentally overload the plate with an extra 5 fries. What a joke. The sweet potato fries were also caked in salt. The side container for beans was also ridiculously small. There is quite literally no other Peruvian chicken spot in Washington, Maryland or Virginia that are so cheap they give out such ridiculously small chickens and food portions. I’ll never go back...
Read morePollo Peru Reston, the original of the two locations, holds a special place in our hearts from our time living in Reston. The food here is absolutely phenomenal, and it has consistently delivered some of the best Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken and sides. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for a laid-back meal with friends or family. The seating area is clean and spacious, and you can tell they take pride in maintaining a great customer experience.
What sets Pollo Peru apart is their incredible selection of freshly made Aguas Frescas—mango, guava, and horchata are all refreshing and complement the savory dishes perfectly. Their desserts, like flan and tres leches, are a great way to end your meal.
Though we’ve moved and now frequent their Herndon location, the quality and flavor remain the same no matter which spot you choose. If you’re in the Reston area, this original location is a must-visit for authentic Peruvian comfort food....
Read moreI !add a decision earlier in the day to make me a visit to the restaurant. One of the reasons besides the obvious, is that aim planning on traveling to Peru in the next few months. In fact, I had also been to this restaurant about a year ago, right about this time. My plan was to order chicken but I noticed that all of the meals for chicken on their menu included at least one piece of dark meat. Instead I decided to order the buffalo chicken sandwich. Which features shredded chicken and buffalo sauce. They added a few tomatoes and lettuce as well, but I didn't notice the provolone cheese. They took a little time to relate this, even though I was the only customer in the store. I figured that the employees were concentrating more on delivery orders. Once I received the sandwich, I took it out to my car and took the first bite. It was delicious, but be forewarned that the buffalo sauce does have a little bit of a...
