I'm confused why folks gave this place a low rating ..... they probably ordered unpopular menu items. This Americanized fast-Chinese food restaurant deserves 5-stars for what it does well and for offering menu items that no other competitors around the area cooks. It would unfair to to compare this restaurant with a high-end restaurant or even an authentic Chinese restaurant otherwise.
This place cooks at least 4 items that other local fast Chinses places do not seem to cook: Mei-fun (very thin rice noodles) Dry stir-fried green beans with garlic (without that thick gunky sauce) Dry stir-fried black pepper beef Pan-fried dumplings (seem made to order)
As for the supposed poor service ..... I'm glad they are more focused on cooking the food fast versus chit-chatting especially for a place built on fast Chinese food curated by American taste buds. Besides, the staff seem to wear multiple hats in trying to keep the overhead down and the price of food low; how can you blame...
Read moreSo, I read the reviews on this restaurant, and I figured we would find out ourselves as the general consensus on the reviews is the food is good but the staff can be a little rude.
My experience there was to be greeted as I walked in the door, they smiled and inquired my order. I asked some questions about the food because I wasn't sure what I wanted. Through it all the staff were polite and professional.
I got the seschuan chicken with added spiciness at their suggestion, and it was delicious! We had plain fried rice and I ended up mixing them because the sauce was plentiful and so tasty!
My wife and son got the sesame chicken, which was also delicious! And the portion sizes were great too!
I reccomend the China Wok for fast, tasty...
Read moreI wanted to take a chance on a new Chinese place. I ordered the bourbon chicken, chicken pad Thai, and the pu pu platter. I got home and unpacked my food which immediately looked and smelled different. The fried food came in a pool of grease and tasted like both chicken and fish. The Pad Thai had a fishy/chicken-y taste as well. The bourbon chicken tasted like what I typically expect spare ribs to taste like. And the spare ribs didn’t have much flavor at all. If it didn’t taste good, it’s because it didn’t have any taste to start. Overall a bad experience and everything pictured is going in the garbage. I’d go to Wong Kok around the corner any day...
