Ettrick Deli — Restaurant in Virginia

UPDATED Review: Before the past 2 months and during the 8 years of being a loyal customer, Ettrick Deli, was my VERY favorite place to eat! However, in recent months they have tried to serve me chicken wings that were raw in the center and an, absolute, disastrous steak and cheese sub! I had asked for extra mayonnaise on my sub and got some type of orange looking dressing on it that the owner insisted was mayonnaise. I NO LONGER recommend anyone eat the food served from the Ettrick Deli as it may make you very sick, especially, the raw chicken and unknown mayonnaise dressing! I have noticed in recent months that they have been closed on some weekend nights and that they are closing early during the evenings...at 7:00pm. At this point, they should close their doors...

Food was great but I wish the customer service was better. I walked in and the lady at the counter said “Hi how are you?” But looked at me like I had a problem when I asked her how she was back. I don’t know if the world knows, but there are guests and customers on this earth that are genuine and do actually say “I’m good, how are you” and really care and expect an answer to that. I work in food service so I know how it feels to greet a guest and they bulldoze you with their order and don’t even recognize you as a person. Sorry I was trying to be nice. Ettrick Deli was surprisingly good! I even took a pic of the place on my way out of the lot for fb so my friends know to try it sometime. It's all take out (guess that's why the parking lot was packed w ppl eating in their cars ☺️) And no fuss or frills, just down to earth, good portions of good food. And they have catfish. I give it a 3 out of 5 bc the food is tasty, affordable, convenient, nice menu selections, & the service was friendly & fast (plus 5stars is reserved in case 1day I find a place where Heaven melts in my mouth, 1star is what I'd rate a decent fast food joint).
