Dragon Garden — Restaurant in Virginia

Really nice DoorDash experience - (1.) Each dish I ordered was delicious. (2.) Temperature was phenomenal. Cozy warm comfort food instead of that weirdly uncomfortable zone of "not technically cold but every bite makes you stop and wonder if you should get up and put it in the microwave." (3.) Portion sizes met or exceeded what I expected just from passively absorbing the material on the menu. No fine print no gotchas. Entree was a standard size, lo mein came in one of those red and white boxes, soup came in one of those big plastic take out canisters the size of a ball canning jar, appetizer specified in the title exactly how many you would get. (4.) My price per person entry is definitely one of the higher ones, but I did intentionally get a lot so I would have convenient leftovers...

Maybe it was my mistake ordering Pad Thai from a Chinese restaurant. I guess I just assumed that if it was on the menu it was because they knew how to make it. I was very wrong. I opened the container, which actually has a good amount of food in it, but immediately really hot liquid poured all over my work pants. It was filled to the brim with water or sauce. On top of that, it smells like regurgitated clams. I was hoping it'd taste differently than it smelled, but no. Usually there is a hint of clam sauce, but this tastes like it was the only thing they cooked it in. I just threw it away even though I'm starving. Don't think I'll be giving this place...

I have been gone here for over 10 years. I have always gotten the shrimp pancit or the Dragon Phoenix. Today I got the shrimp pancit with extra shrimp and the tea, Which are usually love, The pancit was awful in the tea taste so old. So I decided to call the restaurant and ask them did they change management? She stated that they didn’t but somehow something has changed. I will not be going back there again, even though this was a one time incident. All because she gave no resolution or apology to my food being awful. Money is not easy to come...
