Gus's is my go to pizza place. Usually Togo and either call ahead or go to the bar and order. Tonight I decided to go to the bar to order..(alone). It was a little busy, but Ive worked in the restaurant business before, so waited patiently (about 10 minutes--no problem). An old friend came to say hi, taking a minute total. After he walked away the bartender said,"I was trying to get to you but you were too busy talking to your friend. Like trying to serve somebody busy on their phone.." seeming annoyed. I ordered my drink when she brought my drink back. I asked for a menu to place a togo order and she said,"you're welcome". I said,"no can I get a menu". I asked twice. She ignored me. So I went to the front got a menu. The bartender literally would not address me. She served everyone around me; food and drinks. She took food orders DIRECTLY BESIDE me. I intentionally was not on my phone so she knew I was ready. Thankfully my friend offered to buy my drink because I don't know if I could have paid my tab. I had to go else where for dinner. Next time I'll make sure someone else is working or go to a different pizza place....
Ā Ā Ā Read more10/26/23 update. Thought I would give this place one more chance. Got an Italian sub. It was a mess and the meat tasted rancid. 2 bites and it went in the garbage. If i get sick i will update again. I'm officially done here.
This used to be my favorite pizza spot. Not anymore. Not sure what they're thinking with this "crazy" bread thing. It's cut in such a way it can't possibly be divided up. It's thin dry and flavorless. The good news is it came with 2 small cups of not so good chunky tomato sauce to dip it in. Tasted like it's from a can. I hope this isn't the same sauce they use on their pasta. I would really like my money back on that but the pizza was okay. Not as good as I remember. The crust seemed like it was rolled out instead of tossed because it was super flat. $50 for two pies and whatever that "crazy" bread is supposed to be I think next time I'll just go to one of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere are very few places you can eat affordably and be able to say, āthis tastes better than I could make it at home.ā Gusās is not only worthy of of that statement, but as a pizza place, it goes above and beyond. The crust is so on point!! I ordered a personal sized veggie. Veggies can get juicy and end up making the crust soggy, but this pizza was so perfectly done! The crust wasnāt thick, the veggies were plentiful and the pizza wasnāt floppy and sad. This is a true compliment to the chef. My hubs was very pleased with his cod wrap as well. And our waitress, Ashleigh was very friendly, quick, and proficient. Weāve been here a couple times and weāve never been disappointed. Itās the perfect āwhole in the wallā type restaurant. Very unassuming tucked into a shopping center, but seriously the best pizza...
