There's an old saying that says fast cheap or good, pick two. This meal is what happens when you pick none. At $40 for 2 entrees 2 egg rolls and 1 lg soup one would hope that the quality would be in line with your favorite Panda Express franchise however as The Dread Pirate Roberts said "Life is pain your Highness" . The Mu Shu pork had cabbage cooked so long it felt like swallowed a well used wad of dip. The Egg Rolls narrowly edged out my local 7-11 but also had that soggy chewy quality we yern for in all fried foods. Still not everything was a disaster, the egg drop soup although oddly flourecent orange tasted all right. The wantons though had a grainy consistency which was a smidge gross but bearable or as wiser minds have pointed out stale. The most inoffensive dish was the Cashew chicken which was MEH made food. To carry the theme of the meal to it's inevitabl conclusion, when I phone to the store to inform them that I was unhappy with the quality of the food that I had just paid $40 for I was told that's just the way it's made no offer to remake it no offer to discount it no offer to refund it when I asked for a solution I was told tough luck. there are 6,000 Chinese food restaurants in Richmond go to any...
Read moreThe first thing I look for in a Chinese food restaurant, is their egg rolls. Usually if they can get that right, they can get the rest right as well. Their egg rolls were not the least bit GREASY (I hate that), but light and flaky. We also ordered their sweet and sour chicken. Another item I always grade Chinese restaurants on. Great job as well! Cooked very fresh (not double cooked from earlier) light batter and most of all, real chicken, NOT CANNED like a lot of restaurants are doing. We also had the Pork egg fu young, again, I hate to sound like a broken record, but it was very delicious, not over cooked, not under cooked, but most of all NOT GREASY!! Obviously I dislike greasy food. We also had pork fried rice that accompanied the dinner, and again, very good. They do have sit down dining, but it's like a walk up type place. Nice atmosphere for what it's worth, very polite employees and everything I saw seemed very clean including the restrooms. 2 of us ate combination dinner plates, total $17.00 Portion sizes are generous, so if you are on a tight budget like us, this is the place to go for QUALITY...
Read moreI was extremely disapointed after ordering food from this place. I have never seen Chinese food like this I'm my life! The fried rice was not even fried! Its light brown rice with onions and eggs... wow! What happened to carrots & scallions at least? Thats standard in any Chinese food I have ever had from any state I lived in. What was even worse was the shrimp fried rice had the same slightly light brown rice with just steamed shrimp thrown in.... WHAT! Not even fried!! This was the worse Chinese food I have ever ordered in my life and I have been eating it for over 30 years. Please take a lesson from Peking Chinese Restaurants or any other in the area.. because its never anything like this! Sorry... very disappointed and shocked they would call it Chinese food. Will definitely never...
