Java Loco Coffee & Bubble Tea - Mt Vernon — Restaurant in Virginia

The service was terrible. The younger Asian lady that was not the person to take our order was extremely rude and condescending. She placed our food on the counter then proceeded to snatch our drink away asking “Is this yours , is this yours?” After we repeatedly said yes. She rolled her eyes and walked away with an attitude. We let it be. The Middle Easter lady that took our order was fairly pleasant and spoke up for me when I asked for assistance. We asked if the sandwiches could be cooked a little longer since we looked at the sandwiches before eating them. We noticed they were undercooked the bacon on the BLT was still raw and the cheese was not fully melted on the turkey, egg, and cheese. I am pregnant and can not consume raw food that’s why we asked if it cooked be cook a little more. The young Asian lady said “No that’s how the sandwich are cooked , it’s already cooked . Then she processed to argue with my grandmother about it. The Vietnamese Coffee was also very bitter and slightly sour almost as if the milk was sour or old. We didn’t want to make a scene so my grandmother said to gather our things and leave. We went to the car and I came back inside asking for the manager’s information or owners information since the phone line hasn’t worked for the store in a little while. As I’m asking for the information the young Asian lady calls the owner / manager and tells her side of the story. Tells me I can’t get the information and to reach out via the email on the sign in the front. I say thank you and leave. We’ve been to this place so many times before and have not encountered such trouble. We’ve placed our order over the phone, and ordered in the store numerous times and never experienced this. My grandmother comes here every Friday and eats at the store that is the first time that she has had to deal with such disrespect. We were very upset and dissatisfied with the underwhelming service. They don’t do refunds or exchanges here for drinks. If you get your drink made wrong or are a first time customer there and don’t know much about boba then they can’t exchange the drink for you or remake it. The employees there don’t know much about the products they serve and just give you recommendations based on which drink or food is selling the most. I went there to exchange my drink because I didn’t like it, amongst other things, and wanted a different drink. I sat and waited for about 5 minutes and then one of the employees came over to me and pulled me to the side with a small drink of what I wanted in exchange for the large drink I had previously ordered. She proceeded to lecture me on their policy of no exchanges or refunds and then felt bothered whenever I tried to speak and just kept saying “We don’t exchange or refund drinks it’s our policy”. OMG 10/10 i love this location so much more than the van dorn! I will happily take an extra 10min on my commute to relax in this cafe. While the boba doesnt seem entirely authentic, it still is absolutely delicious and chewy. their Vietnamese coffee does taste authentic which i LOVE. It was the first drink ive had here and makes me come back more. All the drinks are fairly priced, food menu is limited to sandwiches. I love that the menu board is easier to read than the van dorn location. Multiple chairs and tables for single person, or a group. The decor and atmosphere makes me believe i could sit here for hours and do work. I came on a Tuesday around 1pm, only one staff on register and bar. He was super nice and efficient with time. The cafe looked to be very clean, i did not see the restroom yet but im so happy with my experience so far. Also the location is amazing!
