Joe Bean's Express Espresso — Restaurant in Virginia

As someone whose from out of town I was recommended to visit this coffee shop. When I pulled up there was a huge line (good sign), I figured I could hop out of the car and maybe order from a pedestrian window to be quicker. 😅 there are no windows for people on foot, it's cars only. So I got back in my car only to realize there are two windows on either side that both serve. I wasn't sure if it was an order on one side and pickup at the other window situation. Not sure how to eliminate confusion there, and maybe they mostly serve locals who already understand. Wonderful customer service once I figured it all out. Got a blueberry muffin and a 20oz latte. The muffin tastes exactly like Otis spunkmeyer muffins, and if you know those muffins will ALWAYS be called moist. The latte was pretty nice, cute little cow sticker on top. Not sure how many shots are in a 20oz though it did taste mostly milky, I'm feeling the buzz kick in though so maybe...

I usually love Joe Beans and think they have wonderful service, so I will start there. The people who work at Joe Beans are great! However, the coffee I had today was disappointing. I recently moved back to Lynchburg after being away for a few years. Prior to my move, I found their coffee to be comparable to Starbucks, The Muse and other cafes around Lynchburg. So, I was excited to get a PSL from Joe Beans this morning. The service was super rapid, which impressed me because the wait time for good latte is a couple of minutes... I got this latte almost as soon as I paid for it. The latte tasted fine, very pumpkin spice, but soon I realized it was overwhelming milky. When I opened the cup up, I found out was far too pale and milky... as if not enough coffee was put into it or put came very pre-made and was heated up. Anyway, I drank it because I bought it, but I won't be buying this...

So.... Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Do you go to Starbucks and support a company that has a strong liberal left agenda, which went so far to boot out 6 police officers because someone felt "unsafe" with their presence?

OR do you go and spend your money at a lovely locally owned business that not only serves the best coffee in Lynchburg but also has AWESOME muffins and gives your 4 legged family members a treat?

For me it's no contest. Joe Bean's gets my vote. Stop by for something hot, something cold, or maybe something frozen. Either way you won't go wrong choosing this...
