This is the single worst restaurant I have ever eaten food from. Period. And not because the food is bad, but solely due to the astonishingly poor management.
I ordered through the app (from across the street in the Food Lion parking lot) at 8:57pm. Which I didn’t even give a second thought to at the time, because the app said they closed at 11pm— no worries. However, when I arrived at 8:59pm I was told that they were closed and that they couldn’t make my food for me. I was frustrated by this but, having worked in restaurants for over a decade, certainly did my best to be as understanding as possible. And besides, the young man, Nick, at the window was very polite and offered for me to get my order made the next day at no charge. Okay, it is what it is, I guess.
I called up the next day and happened to speak to Jonathan (the manager who was apparently also working the night before). Well, unfortunately, Jonathan was not nearly as polite as Nick had been the previous night. In fact, I would say Jonathan’s attitude was that of apathetic indifference; and his overall demeanor was snide, sarcastic, and downright disparaging. And I was, as one would expect, more than a little unhappy when Jonathan explained I would not be getting my food and that “Nick had no authority to do that” when I told him about Nick’s offer to make my purchase the next day.
So, after ending my call with Jonathan, I (for the first time in my life) contacted the corporate office about a problem. I was assured that my money had been refunded (it had not at that time but was eventually) and that someone from the local district office would contact me “soon.”
Well, it’s been over a month and no one from the store, the local district office, or corporate has ever contacted me… so I guess I’ll leave this review here and at least try to warn other potential customers that your money may be better spent at the McDonald’s directly across the street… or at the Arby’s two minutes west on Timberlake… or the Taco Bell/ Pizza Hut or even Sheetz two minutes east on Timberlake…
I’ll leave my original review posted below, in case the awesome young lady who used to be there sees this. I had written it a month or two after we moved to the area and had tried this BK a few times. The same young lady had always worked the window when we came through; sadly though, she’s no longer there. I wonder why…
My son absolutely LOVES the mozzarella sticks from Burger King. And this location does a great job of delivering hot, fresh, food with a smile and a friendly attitude. They’re always quick with a friendly hello to my son as well, and that makes a big difference for me (especially when I’m trying to get him to say his “please and thank yous”). Read moreI hope someone sees this and the other reviews to save this BK. Starting with the one good thing, the cooks are doing great. The food is cooked properly and no one has gotten food poisoning. Now... After it was hit by the tornado and partially rebuilt, the interior was modernized. That's great and all, but there is no charm when it is filthy inside. I'm grouping both of my experience into this review. I ordered inside twice since the reopen and service is unbelievably slow (15-20 minute wait for me and people around me) even for small orders. The cashiers are extremely rude, unprofessional, and in no hurry to do anything other than joke around loudly and act annoyed when someone walks in to order. They need some training asap. For example, I was asked if I wanted to order a "happy meal." I had ordered a milkshake and it was brought out so melted because of the wait, that the lid popped off and it splashed out everywhere. There was no apology or replacement whatsoever, even when I asked. They have a major fly problem and the dust built up in the bathroom makes it clear it's not being cleaned well. The second time I went to this BK there was a blob of poop in front of the toilet that had clearly been stepped in and had time to dry on the floor. The only reason I went back is because my kid love(d) their playplace. Not being able to find a clean table is a major problem, in the play area as well as the main part of the restaurant. The place wasn't busy, but there were no lids for our cups and when I asked if we could have some, after waiting so long for our food... I gave up and hoped there wouldn't be any spills. No one replaced them in the time we were there. Honestly, we are just so disappointed because we were looking forward to having it improved as a fun place to take the kids...
Read moreThis place is ghetto-er than ghetto. This is the SECOND time I placed my order on the app & when I got there, the lobby was LOCKED and CLOSED. I knocked on the door multiple times, but no one came to see me or give me my order. Another customer was coming out and told me that the staff at the counter told her to tell me to WALK THRU THE DRIVE-THRU. This is the SECOND TIME that this Burger King told me to WALK THRU THE DRIVE-THRU. When I got to the first window the guy was taking his sweet time & messing with something in his hands. He didn't act like he wanted to be there or interact with customers. When I got to the second window, the lady told me that it's a "liability" for them to have customers walking through the drive-thru and not to do it again. I told her that I understood what she was saying, but that if they don't want customers walking in the drive-thru, then they need to open up the lobby. She said that they didn't have enough staff. This Burger King needs to get it together. Hire more people or shut down. Y'all RISKED MY LIFE TWICE b/c you REFUSED to answer the door and bring my order to me. You shouldn't be telling people to WALK THRU THE DRIVE-THRU or trying to pin the problem on the customer when you LOCK your lobby & REFUSE to open it or bring out orders that have already been placed on the app. Not everyone has a car or can drive. People should be able to go out and sit in the restaurant to eat. This is not a drive-thru only restaurant.!!! Also, service is incredibly slow and the hot food isn't hot.
