The Good: Let me tell you, this place was amazing for me. Told us it would be 15 minutes and the food was ready in 10. The lamb and chicken kabobs were moist, well seasoned, and I inhaled them. The chickpeas and rice were also so good; it may be better than my old favorite place in Alexandria. The bread was heaven; light, fluffy, and perfection. The green sauce was potent but not over-powering, and the Tiziki sauce was robust and flavorful; they were very generous with what came on my fiancé's gyro.
Needs Improvement: The ONLY thing that was wrong with this place was the shwarma meat on my fiancé's gyro; it was bland, flavorless, and dry like it was from frozen, pulled out of a warming drawer/microwave, and slapped on the gyro. With all that fresh bread, lettuce, and delicious sauce, it was disappointing that this meat is what they chose to use. I expect at a place like this to see a giant cylindrical piece of meat rotating and them cutting peices off to put on the gyro or even just use the kabob meat.
This place would have gotten an A++ rating from me if the gyro meat had not been disappointing because that is always my backup option. Highly recommend this place, but they need to address this one issue to fix their restraunt, and I look forward to being able to revise this to be a 5 star rating in the...
Read moreWent to this restaurant for the first time a few days ago and it was fantastic. Sometimes it is hard to find staff that is really grateful and enthusiastic for your business, but I can tell that the man taking our order was so proud of the restaurant and it really shows. Everyone working there was so friendly.
The pita bread here was absolutely delicious, I would come back just to get some to take home. A huge portion as well. They have several vegetarian options, including appetizers. I ended up getting a veggie kabob and unfortunately I didn't know what vegetables it had, because a few I couldn't eat. Totally my fault for not asking. The dish comes with grilled vegetables, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, along with delicious rice, any side from the buffet, and a huge order of pita bread. I ended up getting the potatoes and they were absolutely delicious. Not too spicy but a lot of flavor.
My boyfriend had the lamb, chicken combo, with a side of potatoes, rice and pita. He really enjoyed it.
They have this delicious tea at the front as well. The restaurant has lunch specials so it might be a good way for you to check it out on a budget. There are several booths and tables to eat in but they do a brisk business for take out.

Read moreI love the new Kabob Restaurant that's next to Zips on Rte 3! It is so much nicer and cleaner than the one that was there before. The employees are also very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Combo B that comes with a chicken Kabob, a kubideh Kabob, basmati rice and chose chick peas as my side. It came with Naan but I can't have gluten. 😔 I wish I could because it was soft and smelled really good. I also ordered a side of eggplant and a side of spinach and I guess it comes with a salad too. The chicken is juicy and tender with amazing flavor even though it's not spicy at all. The kubideh had more of a kick to it than I expects, but again, delicious. The chick peas, (not spicy) eggplant and spinach (both spicy) are the ultimate comfort foods. The rice was cooked to perfection and it has sort of a pasta texture to it, which is nice since I do not eat pasta often. I did some research to make sure it did not contain gluten, which it doesn't because it's just rice, and discovered that it is more nutritious than plain white rice. (It looked a little like rice-a-roni, so I wanted to be sure.) The little salad tasted fresh, with the cucumbers having great flavor instead of tasting like nothing. I'm so happy they opened near my...
