First of all, they didnât offer the Veterans Day special which was posted on the B101.5 website. But, that mightâve been only for the day and not evening. I did show my military ID. But that is what it is. Other factors may have been in play.
The food is what I had issues with. I did take-out so part of it was my fault for not checking the order before I left. But I have been there several times before doing takeout and havenât had issues.
I ordered a cheese and vegetable quesadilla. What I got was a chicken quesadilla. I didnât have an issue with it but my vegetarian wife did since it was her meal on the side. I got lunch for the next day.
The onion rings were so heavily breaded that the onion pretty much disappeared. I wouldnât have accepted them if I looked.
My Santa Fe chicken sandwich had bacon bits instead of strips of bacon. You would think it would be the same, but it really wasnât. The bacon bits were pretty greasy and burnt. It came with a small slice of tomato and some shredded lettuce. The food here is really pretty good normally. So I think I would take this as an exception rather than the food going downhill.
Rather, I think this would be a lesson for people to check their food before they take it home. Even if itâs a restaurant that you normally go to...
Read moreI was given a $25 gift card for Durango Grill, which I had never heard of before. Last Friday night, I took my friend and went there to check it out. There were a lot of young people outside at the tables. (We were the token old people!) My friend just had her knee replaced a few weeks ago. A really nice patron helped her up the high curb while I parked the car. Once inside, our waitress (and I wish I could remember her name--she was awesome!) came over right away and took our order. The food came out nice and hot, and it was delicious. We both ordered chicken Quesadillas, and we shared three appetizers. (I highly recommend the fried mushrooms!) I had a beer and my friend had a mixed drink. When it was all said and done, because I had that gift card, I owed the waitress $1.99 plus tip of course. We couldn't have been more pleased with the experience of eating there. Everyone was friendly (even the patrons), the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. If you go there, enjoy! You...
Read moreThe first thing I do when trying a new place is to order the least expensive item on their menu and go from there because it will tell you everything you need to know from service to food quality, and whether or not it's worth going back. Durango's passed that test with flying colors. The food is very good and their menu is second to none in the area. I'd absolutely recommend Durango's to anyone looking for a place to go after work, meet some friends, have a beer or three, and something good to eat (pro tip- get the fried shrimp) but I have had several items off the menu and to date have no complaints at all which for me, is a fairly high bar. No pun intended. We don't do nightlife so I can't speak to that crowd which I understand is about what you'd expect at most places (bars) in...
