We visited last night as a family to dine in and the hostess was very impatient and rude with us trying to wait for 2 other people to arrive, at some point we just decided to sit down without the 2 other people. We ordered 5 different hibachi dishes and when the chef came out and put the rice out you could see by just looking that it was alittle bit of rice for all the food ordered. One of my family members ordered a New York strip but the chef just mixed it in with all the filet mignon. After serving everyone we all started to eat. The moment I bit into the Meat I immediately spit it out because it was a rancid taste to it . Once I spit it out I smelled it and it had a fishy smell to it . I asked around the table to see if anyone else noticed and two other people said the same exact thing . My husband said he noticed as well but thought nothing of it and still ate it . We let the server now and she went to get the manager but the manager didn’t even flinch to help or even seem to care about it . We paid and went outside . My husband ended up vomiting I went inside to tell them and again they didn’t even care . We went to a near gas station and I started puking with blood . We left it at there but in the morning I called the health department and reported them . They probably had expired meat and since they mixed everything up some people got it and some didn’t . They really need to be on the lookout with the products they have and give out...

I've seen some of the reviews and I was like wow, because I took my wife 12/30/2023 and the food and service was terrible, we have been to Sakura in Vienna, VA 7 times and the food the service and the atmosphere was exceptional compared to Sakura in fredricksburg which started as we walked to the table the floors were terrible. When we sat down the cook at the table in front of us the smoke was so bad I had to step outside because it was filling my lungs and I couldn't breathe...as I looked around I noticed all the chefs were hispanic,,, wait is this not a Japanese steakhouse...all The chefs in Vienna are Asian which I expected at Fredericksburg also as our cook walked up he was also Hispanic and called chicken Pollo which would be great if we were in a Mexican restaurant.. Here burnt my steak the rice was terrible the so called yum yum sauce was not original yum yum sauce...if you don't belive me go to Vienn and eat there...I ordered a coke and never got a refill...my wife had wine and they never asked if she would like another glass...the food I would say was a 4 out of 10 rating the service was a 2 out of 10 rating and the restaurant was a 2 out of 10 rating,,, I would never and will never go back my wife and I wall make the drive to Vienna when we are ready to go to...

Just a bad experience from start to finish.

We told both the server and the chef that my niece has a severe shellfish allergy~ flash forward end of the meal the chef wants to quote “play game” with the shrimp. There was no communication between staff.

By the way, DO NOT EAT THE SOUP AND SALAD ITS ALL PREMADE AND SITS OUT.

Ever asked why the sodas taste weird? Look at those pitchers and ask your servers questions.

Why are all the serving trays wet and have floating mushrooms on them? Maybe ask your server before they hurry back to their phone.

The serving staff consist of future titans of industry specifically the bus boy that spilled leftover hot soup in my wife’s lap, thanks “Carson” what a wonder.

Not to mention the cocktails. The servers seem to have no understanding or conception of a bar, there is no “bartender,” a Makers and ginger is 6.95 but a “flying ninja” or whatever is 13.95 and that’s aristocrat and blue whatever.

Special shout out to Genghis, Chungus, Jenga, Jango Fett whatever her name was, she seems to be the server and translator? Either way, she completely busted up the order but she did sing us the “happy the clap your hands” song with the gnarliest piece of cheesecake I’ve ever seen.

There is zero accountability in this...

Well, at the Sakura Japanese Steak and seafood restaurant in Fredericksburg Virginia today our family had a blast. As the Teppanyaki Japanese Chef prepared our dinner over the Teppanyaki grill, it was absolutely delicious. You may from time to time have a wait, but keep in mind they are preparing this food in front of people and therefore it's not fast food, but fine dining and as such will also cost you a little more. As busy as this business is they may over look something from time to time, but not very often. And if they should; bring it up in kindness as to their culture, not as you would in yours. Sometimes, we Americans forget what is respectful in our culture is not respectful in some other cultures. The Chef was fun, professional and very kind. This is a great business to go to with a special occasion or to have a wonderful experience in other cultural cooking styles. So stop by and slow down and just enjoy yourself the people around you and have a wonderful experience.

Sakura delivered a fantastic dining experience for my party of fifteen, accommodating us with ease and no issues at all. From the moment we sat down, the service was attentive and seamless, which is no small feat with such a large group. The food itself was excellent. My plate was loaded with perfectly seared scallops, tender steak bites, juicy shrimp, and fresh sautéed vegetables over flavorful rice. Everything was cooked just right—the scallops had a beautiful golden crust, the steak was rich and savory, and the shrimp carried a great balance of seasoning. The vegetables added a nice freshness and rounded out the dish well. Sakura really shines in both quality and atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel welcome whether you’re there for a quick dinner or celebrating with a big group. With flavorful food, generous portions, and top-notch service, it’s an easy spot to recommend.

Overall, hospitality was great. We were greeted by a very kind woman who seated us at the Hibachi area of the restaurant. The server was also very kind and moved quickly to accommodate us that evening. Our chef, although kind, wasn't so great. We actually had to have him remake the rice because he burned the egg on the rice during the first round. It was visibly black, and the grill was a mess smh. The other guests and my party were patient with him but still couldn't understand why he thought it would be OK to serve. The food was definitely not seasoned well, either. Our Hibachi show was limited, probably because he was disappointed in the first half, but it took away from our experience smh. He was also very messy, which I've not seen before during the food prep. Imagine a toddler eating with stuff everywhere. That's what it felt like. Maybe it was his first day.🤷🏾‍♀️
