I wanted to try this convenient location on my early morning commute. It was fine a couple of times, then this happened. (2 stars because of good service twice before.) I only selected curbside service because it was preselected in the app. At 6am, the drive-through was empty, and the only curbside customer was leaving. So I completed the transaction at 6:02am as I pulled in to the parking space to wait for my order.
How long do you wait when you are not served, and there are no other customers? Surely if there were a problem, someone would come curbside and tell me? That's how other stores do it. I waited 12 minutes, and by the time I pulled into line, other cars were in line, and I waited behind them. The entire episode took 17 minutes. Staff could not find my order--it's a curbside order, as I explained. They were making up a new order when I saw the runner who had gone curbside to serve me, coming back with a bag. The server took my order from the runner and handed it to me.
I don't worry so much about errors, but the servers that I spoke with were completely apathetic with a side order of "yeah, whatever". That will keep me from returning to this location. The order taker had explained that she is the only one taking orders early in the morning. But that does not explain the delay at all. I used the app, and no other customers were there for a good 3-4 minutes after me. And why would McDonalds understaff a store during a peak time?
In retrospect, I could have received my food in 15-16 minutes if I had stayed parked. But no clue what happened here or how to know in the future if I have been forgotten.
The penalty was paying extra on the Express Lanes due to the 15 minute delay. Yup, time is money. Lesson learned and paid for.
Save yourself the pain and just go up the road to the store near the beltway like everyone else does. You'll also avoid the panhandlers who approach parked cars as well as those in line.
Update: several months later (Nov 2024) I tried this location again late at night and spent 20 minutes in the drive through, with only about 4-5 cars ahead in line. What's wrong with all these customers? Apparently it's not the customers. After all that time in line, my small order wasn't waiting; the server had to ask me to confirm it (although it was confirmed at the payment window) then she left the window to gather the order, it seems. A few more minutes of waiting. This place is quite busy; aren't there more than 2 people working? It's not like other McDonalds'. No efficiency. Early morning or late night, long or short line,...
Read moreUsed curbside multiple times at this location and it seemed to work, except last night. I pulled in to curbside parking at 7:04pm, and ordered one item. After waiting until 7:15pm, I noticed the other car at curbside, which had been there before me had yet to be serviced. The occupant got out of her car and walked in, naturally I followed to find the reason for the delay in our orders. She had been waiting nearly 20 minutes for hers and found it sitting at the checkout for who knows how long. When she told them she was waiting for her order at curbside, the staff told her they weren't doing curbside, to which she said "Then you should decline the request for curbside, which you didn't." The young man who she spoke to was extremely apathetic and said, "Yeah, well we're busy lady. If you wanted faster service go elsewhere sweetheart." A teenager said this to an older woman, needless to say I was shocked. She demanded the manager, who barely did anything to A) reprimand the teenager for his rude behavior to a customer or B) rectify the situation. After the other woman got her order she noticed me and said, "You better ask them for your order too." As she said this, the apathetic teenager walked outside with my order in hand, rather then run to my car and meet him, I waited inside, when he returned I requested my order and he basically threw it at me. What should have taken 5 minutes, took 25, and I'm appalled at the lack of professionalism and service. Typically McDs are fast and efficient with orders, and this one has been in the past, what the...
Read moreThis location is the closest to my home, so with that being said, I have been to this McDonald’s numerous times. I can honestly say without a doubt, this is by far one of the worst locations I’ve been to. I have probably received my order correctly 2 out of 10 times. It’s so bad that I would order my food thru the drive thru, they give me the wrong food, then I have to pull over to wait for them to correct it and they bring me out the SAME wrong items that they gave me the first time. 9 out of 10 times they ask me to pull over to wait for my food and it’s not just a minute or two wait, I’ve sat there for 10 minutes sometimes. While waiting for my food, I watch them bring incorrect orders to the people waiting next to me as well. Now my most recent incident is what brought me to my limit with them. I often order thru door dash and unfortunately I cannot choose my location thru them, they go to the closest place for delivery. I placed my order on the app waited 20 minutes for my food to be delivered completely wrong. Every single item, wrong. Thankfully door dash refunded my money. But I had to get in my car and take the food back to this McDonald’s myself for them to correct my items. As I waited for my food, they brought me my order and to my surprise, they gave me the SAME incorrect items AGAIN!!!! Never once did anyone apologize or offer me anything for my inconvenience. So if you can drive another mile up the road, go to another McDonald’s because this place...
