I have had food from there numerous times as it seems to be popular with many people as a "fast food with a difference" pick-up, so I know these aren't quality fluctuations from one day to the next. Without exception, the beef and chicken kabobs have been incredibly dry (I don't eat lamb so I can't fairly review that). They give you triple the rice anyone would need but, in spite of appearances, the rice has no flavor whatsoever. If you don't smear hummus or yogurt sauce all over the near, it is just like chewing smoky shoe leather! The nan is good but has also been burned more than once. Perhaps they suffer from high traffic volume but you would think that would make everything more moist and flavorful due to turnover... not the case here. To boot, they have the most dangerous driveway in this area. It is crowded, literally only squeezes one car in or out, goes down a steep hill, and when you get stuck on the road trying to get in, you find out why it is a busy thoroughfare that puts you and the oncoming drivers at risk! Disappointing in almost every respect, I wish it were better...
Read moreMan, what happened to this place?
Ok, it’s been a while since we were last here, so maybe this change has been the case for a while now, but… when did they stop making their bread fresh? That was the best part, and the reason to go to Moby Dick. This time, they brought some bagged, already baked bread up from the basement and threw it on… some kind of rotating oven thing… to heat it for a few seconds. And I’m sorry, but it just wasn’t nearly as good. Honestly just about the quality of grocery store pita.
I didn’t feel like the meat in the kubideh was up to previous quality either. It was kind of chewy. And little touches were missing, like they used to put a little bit of butter on the rice and this time that wasn’t there.
Is this the cost of the massive expansion the chain seems to be doing? Because if so, it’s not worth it.
I mean, it was fine. I’m not saying I won’t ever go back. But we’ll probably put a little more effort into exploring the other kabob places in the area than...
Read moreI cannot express enough how much I love this place! The food is so delicious and the staff are wonderful. I go at least once a month for huge catering orders, and for dinner office dinners in between. I rely almost exclusively on this store for all of my work-related catering orders, and have done so for 5+ years. Not once have they messed up an order. Rather, they are amazing at making sure I the exact right amount of food, a good variety for all of my various catering needs, and it's always on time. Truly, a favorite of mine -- you can't go wrong! (I have tried everything at this point, but the lamb is the best. And you have to try their hummus, it's...
