The food and shakes are 5/5. My review stems from the efficiency issues, and overall flow of the space. Parking was easy. Upon entering there’s two separate registers, which after a moment I figured out was because there’s two separate restaurants here. What’s confusing is where do you enter the line? There were multiple people at whatever the other restaurant is, and a group at the Z Burger line, so I couldn’t enter either and stood off to the side. After the customer ahead of me was done, the employee answered the phone and took an order, it was a bit off, as I’d been waiting several minutes. Once it was my turn to order, I could not hear anything the employee was saying. The acoustics in that section are horrible. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger single, legendary burger, shared an order of frings, and each had a shake (Rocky Road, Oreo). The total came to $49.10. Honestly, it’s a bit excessive, but whatever. The food came out fairly quickly. The burgers were great. Crispy bacon, fresh toppings on the burgers. Burgers were absolutely delicious. Better flavor and texture than Five Guys, and not as sloppy and greasy as Big Buns. Onion rings were crispy and very good. Fries were standard issue, and floppy. The shakes arrived about ten minutes after the food, and we were about finishing when they did. That makes absolutely no sense. There was one person on the Z Burger register who was also the only one making shakes. There were multiple people on the grill, so it’s really just a division of labor issue. If someone was on shakes, another on the register, and the rest on the grill, it would have worked much better, and been more balanced. However, the shakes were also awesome. I would definitely not recommend dining in, at least until they figure several of these issues out. I’m uncertain that I would order takeout either, as the cost just isn’t worth it. I’ve posted a lot of reviews, and generally don’t post negative ones, because there’s enough negativity out there. This is an exception because the experience and atmosphere were confusing, snd frustrating.

American classic hamburger joint! What a pleasure it was to have lunch at Z Burger in McLean, VA. On a very hot day when temperatures were soaring above 100 degrees the folks at Z Burger were serving up creamy milkshakes. I enjoyed the double cheeseburger with bacon and a side of fries. The fries were cooked perfectly with a nice brown crispy to them. The cheeseburger was paired with fresh lettuce, tomato’s, pickles and the freshest buns. Anyone in the area would be a fool to pass up this place for any other hamburgers. Staff was like family with their greetings. I had my food brought to my table and asked it there was anything else I may need. This kind of treatment is only at local establishments that care about their customers. I’ll be back very soon to enjoy one of their mouthwatering milkshakes. Enjoy!

I don't visit fast food locations often, but I had a spoil day to give, and the location popped up in my Google search and on my Uber Eats discovery and was rated high. I visited the website, and even though the prices were high, it showcased itself enough to validate my sampling. I arrived, and I was welcomed. I ordered the double meat bacon cheese burger with z sauce (ketchup, mayo, and spices). With this, I order regular sized seasoned fries and a beverage. I was given a number and I took a seat and the order was brought to me. The location was visibly clean. The food was great. The regular was a lot more than expected. I was not able to finish it. I went back the next day and order again with a small. The food was tasty and fresh with a hint of authenticity.

If I could give more than 5 stars i would.

I went here for the first time after Heathers the Musical at McLean Community Center with a bunch of my castmates. (Final run 7/26-28! Come see this magic!)We all ordered burgers, fries, and shakes. First of all, you can feed a family on the amount of fries you get in a regular order, and they are wonderfully seasoned. Dip them in the special sauce. chefs kiss. Burger was massive and delicious with the original toppings. Personally, i would add salt and pepper when you order, but even still - thick patties, loaded up with toppings, I literally had to eat it with a fork and knife because it was huge. Choc.PB.Pecan shake had literal chunks of PB cups and was just heavenly.

A gentleman came around to ask how everything was and gave us hummus and pita on the house. Delicious. We thought that was it. He comes back with an ice cold refreshing cucumber, tomato, red onion salad and spoons for us all. Says its on the house! What did we do to deserve this? We are just regular people. Again, delicious. We are going about our meal, and he comes back! This time with baklava for dessert - you guessed it - ON THE HOUSE. Okay - are we celebrities and did someone forget to tell us?? We truly did nothing to deserve this treatment but my god did we humbly accept. This was baked to absolute perfection and was the perfect cherry on top of an already delicious meal.

Atmosphere was great. Clean, peaceful, bright, bathrooms were clean and stocked. Ample parking, easy access, and great staff.

15/10 recommend. disclaimer you may not receive this royal treatment we did, because as you by now have learned (as we have also just learned) we are local celebrities. But, do not let that deter you from giving this place a visit and enjoying some...

This location is ok but with some work it can be good. I went on a Friday night and it was kind of busy. They had what looked like a full staff but It seemed like they were all over the place and not operating efficiently. When I got to the register the clerk was having a hard time keying in my items and I had to go 3 different registers before they could get it right so that I can pay for my food. I ordered ahead so my food was ready but I ordered shakes while I was there. Bad mistake. It took 20 minutes to get those shakes. The burger I had was the bomb. The seasoned fries could have been cooked better. They were soggy. I can tell they were blanched them but they didn't flash fry them to make them crispy. Anybody familiar with the boardwalk fry cooking process will know what I'm talking about. It took a lot longer than it needed for me to receive my shakes. For me to spend $50 for 2 people I need the food to be excellent. This place is not bad but with some training I know it can be great. The guy that was running the place was very enthusiastic and the customers all seemed to know and like him. I can tell all the staff was trying hard. They just need a little more training and experience they'll be ok. I'll try them again and adjust my review...
