We have been living in the area for many months, but just found a home. I was so excited to see Papa John delivered to our home because it’s our favorite. I ordered through the app for delivery. It said my address was good to go for delivery so I proceeded, but when the wait time came up it said it would take 4 hours to deliver. By that time Papa John’s was calling me (so at least he was on it) and he said you know you ordered in the state of Virginia? I said yes, my address is in Virginia. He said I’ve never heard of your zip code. I said the app directed me to your store and you are 2.6 miles from my location. He said, “this is for the city of Alexandria and it’s a 23 zip code not a 22060, I’ve never heard of that zip code”. I told him, it’s ok if you don’t deliver here, I’m not on the military base of Fort Belvoir if that is what you are wondering and he said, “I’ve never heard of that place”. I told him again, it’s ok if you don’t deliver here so just say that, it says it takes 12 minutes to drive there so I can pick it up” and he said, “I’ll just cancel your order because I don’t think you are close to this Papa John’s”. So, he canceled it. I then triple checked to make sure I had the right one and I did. So, I had to reorder it immediately, now charging my card twice, then went and picked it up. I didn’t have the energy to say anything when I picked it up because at that point- what else can you do? He should of just told me we don’t deliver 2.6 miles away instead of treating me like I’m an idiot that doesn’t know where I am at; however, he was very nice to me when I picked it up and even offered an extra sauce as I checked the order. I declined the extra sauce bc I was just too upset. I know this isn’t a big deal, but it just makes me sad because Papa John’s is where we order from often and I’m the caretaker and driver of five people so less driving would have been a nice option. I’ve never had any difficulty with Papa John’s in all 30 years...
Read moreA WARNING: So this is my closest restaurant, and I’ve gotten some miserable pizzas out of this shop regardless if it’s mirthless teens working late night or 4 hard working men working for dinner shift. I accidentally ordered a pizza from this shop when I was a couple miles away at my friends house, and had to re-order the pie closer. So I picked up the other pizza and one from here just for the hell of it and the difference was so terribly apparent. The other pie looked & tasted amazing, and my pie from this shop looked like someone ate and regurgitated that other pizza into a perfectly round shape in this pizza box. Why does this happen? This shop skimps hard on the normal amount of cheese, so that you end up getting a dry red skin of melted sauce and cheese together that you’d only normally eat if you were 22 and drunk on the street late night in DC. The other pie had normal pizza-like qualities: a layer of cheese floating above the sauce, which is what every Papa John’s I’ve ever ordered from normally serves. Most frozen pizza has more self-respect than the hockey pucks this place makes. idk what amount of money they save doing this, but it is insulting to the brand. Get your act together and make a normal brand-worthy pie, you cheap...
Read moreI had a terrible customer experience today (9/22 between 11am and 12pm) while speaking to a staff member over the phone today. He was extremely rude, impatient, and disrespectful to me while I was trying to order 6-10 pizzas for an event I was hosting. My company orders from you all the time and this experience is really making me think twice about choosing Papa John's in future. Even the delivery driver commented on how rude his counterpart is on a regular basis. Being in the customer service industry I do not see it in your best interest to have some like this be the face of your company. I am disappointed with my experience as a customer and am hoping the person involved will think twice before treating a customer the way I was treated today. Utter garbage communication skills I must say and disinterest in...
