My husband and I booked a reservation for Easter Sunday Brunch through Open Table. When we arrived, the host said we weren’t on the reservation list. My husband showed him the Open Table reservation confirmation. He made a call to someone, then disappeared for several minutes. When he reappeared, he asked if we were members, we told him no. He said the brunch was exclusively for members. We told him that was ridiculous since we had confirmation for our reservation. Once again he disappeared for this time approximately 10 minutes and when he returned, he told us a table was being prepared for us. We were thinking the room must be packed. We were taken to our table, and along the way there were COUNTLESS empty & dirty tables; in fact, there were only about 4 tables occupied. We sat down & a waiter asked us if we wanted a drink & told us to go get our own food at the buffet. WE WERE COMPLETELY DISGUSTED & DISAPPOINTED!!! The menu made it seem that it was an upscale buffet including shrimp, oysters, and think mussels & or clams, carving station for prime rib, salads, vegetables, omelette station, desserts, etc. With the price of $85 per person, we could only assume everything would be top notch. To our surprise, the shrimp was waterlogged (appeared to be frozen/thawed out), chewy/brownish colored oysters, mussels that weren’t open (when they don’t open, they aren’t safe to eat), the the prime rib was dry & not tender (like a quality prime rib would be), the vegetables were obscure options…extremely disgusting seasonings, no regular garden or Cesar salad available, and when we had to resort to an omelette (you’d think this couldn’t go wrong), the person making the omelette was asked to include spinach, tomatoes, onions and cheddar cheese. He started each selection with about 1/2 of a teaspoon of each ingredient, when asked to increase the amount, he added a tiny bit more. Turns out he made them with what seemed like mozzarella cheese. We literally placed each plate we attempted to eat off to the side of our table…COMPLETELY DISGUSTING!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO LANSDOWNE - the entire experience was unbelievable and a total...
Read moreMy husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with lunch AND dinner at Piedmont. The whole experience exceeded our expectations, leaving us feeling full, satisfied, and happy we didn't break the bank by going to DC Prime Steak or Eddie Merlot's.
We had lunch at Piedmont after our spa treatment. Cesar took good care of us. One of the dishes we ordered had ingredients that were not in season. Chef Vi came to our table and let us know. Instead, he hooked us up with a different dish that we loved! He then invited us to dinner as his special guests.
Dinner is when the Piedmont team really shined. Chef Vi and Antwon were super personable and happy to chat - despite the Saturday dinner rush and the multiple birthday celebrations that were going on. We had 2 appetizers (charcuterie board + brie and artichoke dip), 2 entrees (PERFECTLY cooked medium-rare ribeye and miso-marinated seabass), and 2 desserts (they were both good but the chocolate sin cake was worth every calorie!!).
We were so happy with our service, that we'll be coming back here for every special event moving forward. Thanks again to the whole entire team for making our anniversary so special. We can't wait to return! Especially for...
Read moreThis restaurant is poorly managed, turning away customers based on a vague and inconsistently enforced dress code with no clear guidelines on what’s acceptable. We were refused entry, so we opted for takeout instead. To our shock, we were forced to pay an 18% tip on the takeout order, which we were told was “standard policy.” However, the menu clearly stated that this charge only applies to dine-in groups of eight or more, with no mention of it being mandatory for takeout.
The staff member at the front desk was unprofessional and should be re-evaluated, along with the manager’s approach to customer service. While waiting for our order, we saw her turn away several other customers, yet she allowed in a group wearing yoga pants and a faded t-shirt. The lack of consistency and transparency is...
