Authentic neapolitan style margherita pizza will forever be my absolute favorite and I love that we finally have a place in Charlottesville that does it authentically and quickly. I wish that they were a bit more affordable as the price point makes it less of a go-to place than a special occasion thing for me. (Would y'all consider having a student discount? Or a loyalty program?) But the quality is amazing. They did good sourcing the ingredients. In particular, the sauce has a lovely fresh acidity - you can really taste the difference that nice san marzanos make - the evoo is good quality, the crust is the perfect texture, and the parmesan adds just the right amount of salt. You should understand their pizza is closer to a classic Italian style, with a wood fired, charred crust. Don't go here expecting to find a pizza like Dominos or Digiorno. This is also a different pizza than what people associate with NY. I went there with an open mind, and found something that is a hidden gem, with a taste that is simply hard to find in our neck of the woods. They make pretty much everything in house, including their dressing and cannolis, both of which are fantastic. Read moreSome people try to convince themselves something is good when its not. 10" pizza had too much end crust and the bottom crust was super thin but did have a good flavour, toppings was a thin layer of cheese and barely any sauce. I didnt even know they had lucnch specials until i got on here. I paid $26 for this 10" and 3 bottle sodas. Roddiculous. University pizza down the street is waaaaay better. For $5 ya get 1 slice thats about as big as popitos 10" and a fountain drink. For under $10 you can get 2 slices and a bottle drink. Popitos did taste good over all but for the price paid it is by no means worth it. The people there were freindly tho...no problem with that, but if hungry, dont go there...you will leave...
