Ricky's Chicken — Restaurant in Virginia

(I ordered DoorDash) I ordered the 1/2 Chicken Meal, with onion rings, fries, a side of cheese fries, and jalapeno poppers.

The food was packaged wonderfully, and was nice and hot on arrival.

Inside of the jalapeno poppers container, there were five chicken wing sized jalapeno poppers. This would be my first time trying jalapeno poppers. It was a generous portion of half a jalapeno and significant filling, to compliment. They honestly weren't too hot and I rather enjoyed them.

Inside of the container for the rotisserie chicken, fries and onion rings, there were a few pieces of chicken and six onion rings.

The chicken had a beautiful herb-like taste to it. The chicken skin was soft and easily torn apart. The chicken meat was tender and able to be pulled away easily, while at the same time remaining juicy and flavorful. The pieces included in the half chicken were the leg, thigh, breast, and wing.

The onion rings were a lovely beer-battered type, with light fluffy crunchy breading and a nice tender onion inside. This is my favorite way to get them. These are not the cheap style crunchy-crisp ones with a hard exterior shell.

Inside of the container for the cheese fries there was a generous portion of cheese and fries with the cheese being evenly spread across the top of all the fries. The cheese fries were lovely. The fries were cooked just right and the cheese had just a slight hint of a spiced kicked to it, while remaining in the background on the edges of your tongue, not a full-frontal heated assault.

On the downside, The meal didn't come with any napkins or utensils. Though with this kind of meal you shouldn't necessarily need it - but it would have been nice to see that it was included, as an option...

This places used to be good when the owners where there. Now the girl they have at the register is the rudest more careless employee I've ever experienced. She has an attitude, is short with you and when she goes to the back to help with the orders she doesn't care about your food. I watched her take fries out of the fryer and dump them straight into a bowl without draining any excess oil. She gave me a melting Styrofoam container with oil drenched fries, how appetizing. Then when you bring it to her attention she says that's how fries are made and acts like you are in the wrong. I run multiple restaurants, food trucks and a catering department, so NO thats not how fries are made, you are supposed to drain the excess oil and if ever using Styrofoam you have to line the container. After I asked for a refund because she refused to make the fries correctly she simply said well then don't come back again. That great customer service, that one single employee is going to cost you Thousands of dollars in repeat business and customers who used to come here on a regular basis. Get rid of her or add a 3rd person to help them because the girl at the cashier is not a good representation for...

Not bad at all, but if your just going to go so you can compare to your own cooking or your moms or look for things to judge, just go somewhere else instaead , this may not be the place for you , save us all the bad review. This is a nice little family place making a living cooking, i thought it was good, food was hot, plenty on my plate, i was satisfied. We all have a different sence of taste, no 2 people are going to think something taste excatly as the other may, restaurants cook to to satisfy the mass not to one individuals personal taste. i thought it was a good meal, perfect? No, but i enjoyed having a nice hot cooked meal and would go back. This was my first time there tonight, i ordered the Carne Asada and a side of platanos. Steak was a little bit spicy but i think that was my taste buds reacting because i usually stay clear from spicy foods but i punished it just the same. Service was good, counter woman was friendly and smiled.
