Make that a NEGATIVE 1. Friday evening place was packed. However you seat yourself and they take your order. Without even writing it down. Said they would bring fresh bread out once it finished baking. A while later out came a clump of dry warm, tasteless bread. No taste what so ever. We broke it apart with a butter knife. Very unappetizing. Was told when we asked about our non existing food that they were behind. Again the waitress came out later and said it was going to be 8-10 minutes more. Our son got up and left at that point. We followed behind him. They stopped us at door and we told them to forget the food that it was taking entirely TOO LONG. They should have been better prepared. There was a car show nearby, and many people came from that. Its a normal Friday so it wasn't anything new. AVOID this place at all costs. The sodas even were watered down. I was not doing well so leaving was our best option. There seemed to be no...
Read moreLived here 7 yrs. Had company went for lunch today the 5 of us. We entered into a very dark, outdated restaurant. They state "NY style pizza" & since we are Long Islanders I guess our expectations were to high. Ordered the garlic knot appetizer & was very displeased with big dough balls with nit enough seasoning or butter. Our meal arrived: chicken Caesar salad was bland, no cheese, pitiful amount of Caesar dressing. Had to ask the waitress if the salad actually had any dressing on it & then ask twice for more dressing. Bread was served. Not sliced chunk of 6 pieces. 3 small pats of butter. Had to wait over 5 minutes for more butter & Caesar dressing. Had to request parmesan cheese & flake red peppers. We never shook so much salt, pepper, parmesan cheese to try to get some taste. Very bland. Over $100 wasted & we drank waters. As we all exited we all said we will never be back &...
Read moreI have an allergy to milk products and have not been able to eat cheese for almost 40 years. I ordered a Works with no cheese and additional sauce to keep the pizza from getting dry as I have done at every pizza restaurant I've ever visited and Sal's Jr. charged me $3.00 extra for the sauce. No other restaurant has ever charge me for the extra sauce! When I explained to them that I was deleting cheese which cost more than tomato sauce and that I could not each cheese, their comment was we always charge for extra ingredients and would not refund the additional $3.00. I even explained to the manager that I have never been charged for extra sauce at any restaurant. I guess they care more about that $3.00 than they do my business because I won't be going back. The original Sal's in west end is much better quality anyway. One star for poor...
