Taco Bell — Restaurant in Virginia

I have loved Taco Bell since they first open a store in my hometown like over 30 years ago. I remember when tacos were like $0.50 a piece!!! My mother, my 7 daughters and grandkids all love Taco Bell. I have to say that the Taco Bell in Mechanicsville has the best customer service anywhere for any company, including Amazon. I will explain why I say that. My 12 year old daughter was watching a movie on our DVR Thursday evening and saw a Taco Bell commercial for a Steak Nacho box. So while we were out Friday evening, she said she wanted Taco Bell for her dinner. We went to the Mechanicsville Taco Bell, got in the empty drive thru line and she went to place her order, a Steak Nacho Box with chicken instead of steak. The drive thru employee stated that they didn't have that on the menu. My daughter repeated her order but received the same response, they don't carry it. A car pulls behind us and I tell her thanks and I pull into the parking lot so my daughter could research what she thought she had seen on the commercial. She found it on the web and told me to go back through the drive thru. We get back in line and when it's our turn to order my daughter slowly and very clearly says, I would like a chicken nachos box with no guacamole please. The young lad y starts to tell her that they don't have that on the menu but stops mid sentence and says hold on one minute. She's gone about 30 seconds and says will that be all for your order? My daughter, smiling so hard I thought her face might crack, says no thank you that will be all. We pull up to the window and I pay for her food and she hands me the bag. She says to my daught she hopes she enjoys her nachos. My little girl says I will and thank you. I pull into the parking lot, so she can get her food straight. As she is doing that I realize that the movie she was watching, Ferris Bueller's Day Off was recorded on the DVR in the Spring/Summer of 2019!!!! I’ve been treated better in Third World countries. I’m a truck driver on reset so I can’t drive my truck. It wouldn’t fit through the drive-through anyway. I purchased a mobile order and plan to go inside and pick it up as I usually do at most places. Being a Taco Bell typically open very late. The time was 11:22pm and they are advertised open until 3 AM. After I walked across a few streets to get there, I went to go inside only to find the doors were locked, and what appeared to be the manager of the store was very defensive and rude in his way of telling me that I could not come inside and order and my response was I already ordered it was a mobile order I’m just trying to pick it up. Then again he aggressively told me I would have to go through the drive-through. I told him I did not have a vehicle. He said I would still have to go through the drive-through to pick it up so I walked to the drive-through window where he met me again and told me I could not stand there after he just told me to go through the drive-through. He told me that it was a company hazard, which I already know that so I asked him then why can’t I just come inside? His response was no I can’t come inside its policy. After another vehicle passed by I finally got my food. I’m a disabled veteran and I’ve been around the world and the rules we have here have become so stupid that it’s ridiculous you have to say that the policies you have in place are a safety hazard. Went in at 7:50 pm on 2/11/2024. Went to Kiosk to order couldn’t get anything to work properly. Figured it was kiosk so went to one right beside it. Still same issue nothing would allow me to order after viewing the menus. Went to counter told the girl I couldn’t get kiosk work. She said yeah their not working. This girl had watched me the whole time and NEVER said a word. So I ordered with her the Chicken Enchilada Burrito combo. She never even apologized for not saying anything prior to me trying to use kiosk. Waited for my order. Got it within minutes and left. Got home and saw NOTHING was correct except for my drink cause I fixed that myself. They gave me the cheesy beef burrito, double stacked taco and crushed chips and cheese dip. It was not a difficult order and the stuff they had on for toppings is nothing that I would have gotten on my order. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! It was more goofing off than working there and I was just too tired to go back and deal with the incompetence of the girl and staff. The food was cold and I just threw it all away.
