Waffle House — Restaurant in Virginia

I have been to a bunch of Waffle Houses and none have been as disappointing as this one. The food is good but it wasn't the best. I will never come back to this Waffle House again. My boyfriend and I went in and took our seats, the waiter didn't show for about 8mins or so. Then when he did show he had a bit of an attitude. After we got our drinks we ended up with another waiter (thank God). This place seems new and the waiters need some training they are young and clearly don't know anything about customer service. The young man Peter is very rude and needs to look for a job that doesn't involve people having to see his angry face for an hour while trying to enjoy a meal. He's also rude and doesn't realize (apparently) that when he's being rude to his co workers as well the customers can see. Jermaire asked him if he had cleaned some tables and he said "I'm not cleaning any table you do it." So Jermaire without saying anything cleaned the tables off for the family of 6 who had been standing there for 10 minutes hovering over my boyfriend and I while they waited to get seated. She had to ASK for her table to get cleaned otherwise I don't think anyone would have done it. There were only 6 people in the restaurant at the time we were there and no reason why the tables should have been dirty. Jermaire was the only hard working nice person there aside from the cook (who didn't utter a word the whole time we were there). I'm sure the other people might have been okay too but we just wanted to eat and get out of there. Let me clarify that the food is good but because of our experience we will not be coming back to this particular...

What a dive! Came here for food on a Sunday afternoon. Walked in and there were dirty, nasty dishes EVERYWHERE and several employees just hanging out where patrons eat, maybe off the clock after a busy shift?? They even had a makeshift area "taped" off for themselves. I still counted 5 people "working", with at least 2 managers. The grill was empty but there were a couple of order tickets in front of the cook. A blonde lady told us she'd be with us shortly, and there were only 2 patrons in the whole place. Everyone looked disheveled and as though they were on drugs. Flies everywhere. Disgusting place. We waited for 5 minutes only because we were hungry and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Bald manager walking around trying to look busy. Not one of the 5 employees was working, just wandering around. Finally, we were told it was going to be a few more minutes, and we just said "y'all are ridiculous" and walked out. They looked like deer in headlights, like we had done something to offend them! What a joke of a place. Went to Zaxby's and were treated like we should be IN SPITE of them obviously being short staffed like many restaurants now. I only wish the health department had come in while we were at Waffle House, they would've shut them down on the spot. Management/owners need to wake the eff...

I only went in to the location because no one would answer the phones so that I could place my order for a party of ten after about 15 mins of try to call.. me and my friend get there and we’re like, we’ve been calling for 15 mins !! The young man that took our order then replied to us that the phone was off the hook and they didn’t know where it was😳... we let that slide, it was 12 o clock in the morning and we were starving.. we all order and I began to choke, the young man taking my order didn’t even offer a cup of water he just stared at me and said is that it???? I said yea can I get a cup of water obviously because I’m choking and coughing.. it took about ten minutes to get that cup of water... good thing I wasn’t dying!!!!!! So as me n my best friend are waiting on our food we see the cook taking raw sausage and bacon out the fridge with his gloves , not changing them and touching the rest of the food... I’m no rocket scientist , but that’s definitely cross contamination!!!! Not to mention my best friend doesn’t eat pork.. I promise to will never step foot in any other Waffle House if this is their protocol food handling routine... ‘This is a very dangerous method of handling food and you guys are going to get someone really sick!!!!
