Taqueria Flavio — Restaurant in Virginia

Has a real basic but homely feel to the restaurant. When I went it seemed like there was not a lot of seating though most people just did carry out. That being said the place was clean, especially the kitchen, which you can see if you sit at the table near the back. Food was ready in no lie, around 10 min. after ordering and the people were very friendly and helpful if you needed anything. The food was also fantastic. I ordered 3 steak tacos and a chicken quesadilla. Had to take the quesadilla to go because they packed so much meat in the tacos. Great bang for your buck as I got the three tacos, quesadilla, a coke (glass bottle with real sugar) and my mom got the fajitas meal with a soda which came with rice and beans for about $40. The food is always delicious, but I had to take away one star. I placed an order on door dash at 9pm, and Flavio said they weren't taking orders? (Mind you the estimated time until the food delivered to my house was 40 minutes. Dasher would have probably picked up the food circa 9:20). The hours clearly state 10pm. As a worker in the food industry, I do understand those "late tables" can be frustrating. But if your hours say "till ten" then you'd think last call for food is about 9:45 right? And that's IF there's a "last call". I've cooked in plenty of restaurants where a table has walked in two minutes before close, and ALL of the cooks had to stay later. So what would have happened if I drove there myself? Would they have turned me away at 9:20 or just shoot me dirty looks until I got my food? Who knows. I always enjoy stopping here, because I think that this place has the most authentic Mexican tacos in Fredericksburg. I especially enjoy their lengua, cachete (beef cheek), and chorizo tacos. If you're in the car and want to grab a bite without all the mess of tacos, a burrito is a good way to go. This place is legit - and goes heavy on the cilantro and onions the way an authentic Mexican restaurant should. Their prices are very reasonable, and I will say that their horchata is delicious. This place also appears to be very popular with the Spanish-speaking Mexican and Central American crowd, and always seems to be somewhat busy.
