I don’t generally leave reviews and am hesitant as to not be seen as a “Karen” but I was rather disappointed in my experience with The Patron Friday 06/21/24.
My wife and I were mentioning where we wanted to eat for dinner this evening and decided to switch up our normal “Mexico Restaurant” for the Patron. This was my suggestion as I have been previously and really enjoyed previous experiences. We ordered Queso ($6.99) and had to wait (I don’t want to give a time frame but it was long enough to stare at the Queso to think it was ridiculous) to ask for some more chips to eat our queso. We ordered our food and two soft drinks and while we were eating our waitress passed our table numerous times not checking on us, my wife and I had empty drinks throughout our entire meal. So much so I had to grab another waitress to please ask for more drink, I’ll add she only returned with one soda so I gave that to my wife. While I don’t want to speculate, it seems that if you weren’t ordering large margaritas you weren’t provided the same care. Throughout the whole meal, I was mentioning to my wife about tipping on “service” and how my waitress should be compensated as such but tipping culture has gotten so wild that I am unable to sleep at night if I don’t tip 20%. Finally as my wife and I were sharing the one Diet Coke that was brought to us by our other waitress I told her that I would tip not accordingly but the way I always do and instead provide feedback to the manager seen walking around the lobby. Finally my waitress brought the bill and we paid, I asked the manager if I could provide some feedback. I told him I understand being short staffed is probably an issue, but there should be no reason of the above should be tolerated, his response was “service was a little slack? Sorry about that”
I have no idea what that waitress was going through, she may have been having a bad day but there was no reason I should be feeling like an inconvenience in the slightest after paying $60 for a meal. Your mileage may vary, first frustrating experience of probably 10 visits to the Patron and I don’t plan...
Read moreI loved this place until yesterday. We go for lunch, we received a lunch menu, and then we sat chatted for a few moments, ordered margaritas. The waiter came back we ordered our food. After we ordered probably like 10 to 15 mins later he comes back saying it's now 3, and jumbo margaritas are 6.99.... great we said we would keep that in mind. We get our food a little bit after. We ask for our bill 3x still didn't get it, finally the waiter said come up its easier to split the bill. It was 2 checks, 3 people... how hard is that? Whatever, I tell him what's on what check, he messes it up 4 times, even after he printed it out and I marked each thing I was paying for. Finally, Bill time! He charged us dinner price for everything and I told him we ordered lunch, he said he km nows but he can't do anything about it because the computer changes the price after 3... I asked him why didn't he tell us. He said he didn't because the system does that so we have to pay the bigger price... I told him I wasn't I ordered way before 3 and he should have told us and if that's the case why was our drinks still 12 each of the system is that smart? He rolls his eyes and said nothing he can do and I told him there is something he can do... he got the manager who was his brother , as in his word "do us a favor and took 6 dollars off my bill"... Unfortunately that whole experience just really wasn't okay... therefore with all the other great Mexican establishments in the area of Richmond, this one has been written off the list for the tactics of their fellow employee. I worked in restaurant and I know the tricks of the trade...servers do certain things to get quicker cash, unfortunately this one didn't care that...
Read moreIf you want good Mexican Food, this is the place..and for the food, I give them 5 stars! BUT, as for service..they get a 1! We came in on Cinco De Mayo. I realize it is a busy day...but to wait for an hour and a half to get our food..there is NO excuse! I spoke to the Manager to express my concerns and he says "it's Cinco De Mayo, mistakes have been made" and rather than excepting responsibility, chose to blame everyone and everything around him...then tops it off by saying "what do you want me to do for you?"...I said, just get me my food please...and he walked away
I guess the customer doesn't count at the Patron
ADDITIONAL INFO: I appreciate the response from the Restaurant. This was an accurate review of my experiance. I may have had a different opinion had the Manager not said "What do you want me to do?" in a tone that was not favorable. What I "wanted" done was to have the Hostess explain, we are very busy when she took my name, or even seated us, therefore food orders may take a bit longer than usual. That way my expectations are set. I witnessed many other tables sit after us, and get thier food before us. The Waitress even said "We made many mistakes tonight, and I apologize". When we fianally got our meals an hour and half after ordering them, the Taquitos were over cooked and burnt. When I asked for the check, the waitress asked if she can remove our plates? Both were half finsihed, as the Taquitos were not even edible..and she never even bothered to ask if everything was ok with the meal? Maybe she did not want to know the truth?
and don't patronize me with your...
