Tiki-Tiki — Restaurant in Virginia

Today me and my wife were off work from an eventful week. With the start of our city opening back up we decided to cruise around town! Visiting parks and just enjoying what nature had to offer. After our nature walk through a wonderful trail we decided to grab some lunch at a place we’ve been wanting to try. We were greeted by Mike. As it was open for us to set anywhere we liked, we decided the bar. Since they’ve been closed down for months. As Mike brought our menu’s we notice he was serving, hosting, bartending, answering the phones while doing to go orders. Mike kept us pleased our entire visit to Tiki-Tiki! My wife ordered her a drink which was fixed to perfection and our chicken was crispy with a wonderful sauce on the side. We ended up ordering the wrong entree but Mike had not one problem fixing it for us! We explained to Mike exactly what we were meaning to order and he knew exactly what we were talking about. He fixed our order without any hesitation and was very happy to do so. We ordered the fried general tso shrimp. Which was delightful with a side of broccoli and fried rice. If you are in Richmond or the West End area this is the spot to go! Ask for Mike! He’s fast fun...

This was our first visit (late lunch). I got the Polynesian Apple Chicken in Pineapple Sauce with fried rice & added a vegetable egg roll. My husband got the Chicken & Broccoli lunch combo with fried rice and a chicken & shrimp egg roll.

The egg rolls were fantastic. Hot & crisp & larger than the ones at our usual Chinese restaurant. Served with little pots of hot mustard and duck sauce. I'm allergic to shrimp and the server was careful to make sure I had the vegetable one.

Both entrées were delicious. My husband said his chicken was tender and there was no fat or gristle. Broccoli was tender-crisp and vibrant green. Where it looked like a smallish portion, he said it was actually a lot of food and he had trouble finishing. My Apple Chicken was outstanding. Tender bites of breaded fried chicken with warm chunks of fresh, crisp apple and pineapple in a sweet pineapple glaze with some green bell pepper for color. It was not a lunch combo and I had to bring some home. (The rice was mounded over the top of the bowl, but I was starved & started eating before I thought of a picture.)

I ordered food from Tiki-Tiki-II for delivery last night after receiving a menu from them in the mail and it never came! I ordered at 9pm and then at 9:44pm I was called asking for my address again so the driver can put it in the address. The lady on the phone had a horrendous time trying to spell Avocado even after repeated clarification. At 10:10pm I tried calling to get an update on the delivery but no one was answering, I'm assuming because they closed at 10pm. By 10:30pm I decided to make my own dinner which was probably the better decision to begin with! Still, this was very poor service. If they weren't able to find the place, why wasn't I called? Did the delivery driver ever leave? Did he/she just give up and went back to the restaurant to go home? They weren't concerned at all that they were all leaving with an undelivered order without contacting the person? My credit card was charged for the amount as well.
