I only come here for Cars & Coffee. However, I do remember Regency from it's former 80's glory. It used to be the mall in northside, the foot court was great, there were a variety of stores, all the storefronts had tenants, and there were lots of people around. These days, none of those things are true. The food court is losing vendors rapidly (Chick-Fil-A pulled out a few months ago). I'd say that maybe 20% of the storefronts are occupied, and of those about half are shoe/jersey shops with the other half mostly being make-up or clothing stores with very few people in them. The anchor stores mostly left a decade or so ago with only J.C. Penny still there (I'm not sure if they're actually open or not). Most of the people in the mall are just elderly mall-walkers.
Still it's good venue for Cars & Coffee and I'm kinda surprised that more of the places in the food court don't open for C&C. Before they left, Chick-Fil-A did great business during C&C since they were the only ones open.
Supposedly an aquatics center is going in, I didn't think it would actually happen when they announced it, but apparently it is...
Read moreI didn't even know this place was a mall to begin with. I worked here for a short time and I noticed a few of the anchor stores left. There are some prom dress stores, tuxedo stores, coats store, there's a Spencer's, a sports store, and a few deserts and good places. The playground is alright for younger kids. They have stairs on both ends of the mall and elevators as well. The mall is very small. The good things I guess, is the parking. It isn't just one floor. I've ate at 2 different places there and the food was good I'm both places. I ate at both Chinese food places. I can't remember both their names though. I stopped working there. The foot traffic is super duper slow unless it's a holiday. But, even with a holiday it might still be slow some days. I didn't like a when the people in the store would go on breaks that they had to close the whole store instead of having 1 or 2 employees stay behind and keep...
Read moreRegency is an older mall located in the West End of Richmond/Henrico but despite its age, the new owners of it are trying what they can to revitalize it after having gone through a downturn when newer malls and of course the internet have made it a less attractive shopping option.
It still has a couple of anchor stores and they have recently added a lot of new locations outside of it such as Starbucks, Panera and a few others. The Sears closed but it is supposedly going to be converted into something else.
The mall has a decent variety of stores, although I have always felt the prices are higher than they should be in this location than they are online or at other locations.
One thing it has going for it that a lot of the other newer malls in Richmond do not have is that it is an indoor mall. This is a plus when you are dealing with colder or...
