Our experience with The Mixing Bowl for our wedding cake was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we met the staff during the 2023 Richmond Weddings Winter Show we knew we would be in good hands. The team at The Mixing Bowl listened attentively to our vision and preferences, and they went above and beyond to bring it to life.

The planning process was fun and unique. We loved the tasting box-to-go and being able to sample the cake flavors; mixing and matching to our liking from our home. Once we were ready to order our cake the staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating throughout the entire process. They were responsive to our inquiries and made the entire experience stress-free.

On our special day, seeing our stunning cake on display was truly a special highlight from our day. The cake we ordered was a work of art. It beautifully designed to match our wedding theme, and the taste was incredible. Our guests loved how delicious it was! It exceeded all of our expectations and added an extra touch of elegance to our celebration. We're immensely grateful to The Mixing Bowl for their exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

We are SO fortunate to have had The Mixing Bowl team as part of our wedding on 10/30/2021– I truly cannot recommend them enough! I initially reached out to Phyllis, TMB wedding coordinator, in a totally frenzied state: my previous vendor had dropped the ball on me with less than 6 months until the big day. As an out-of-state, pandemic bride, I was ready to accept a Betty Crocker cake at this point, but Phyllis assured me TMB could still accommodate whatever it was I envisioned. All of our email exchanges were upbeat and promptly responded to.

When life forced me to make a last minute trip through VA, I called TMB on a whim to see if I could grab a cake sample on my way through town. I was definitely expecting a "no, we're so sorry, we can't swing that," and would have been fine with that response. However, they made it happen with hardly any notice, and the sample was free!

As if all that weren't enough, my mom was in charge of the dessert for the rehearsal dinner, but after a bunch of mishaps, I sent a bridesmaid's husband into the wilderness and told him to handle it with 0 instruction. TMB hooked him up beautifully!

Didn’t have the best experience with The Mixing Bowl. I scheduled a pick up a week in advance for a wedding tasting box. Employees weren’t very friendly - had a weird experience in the bakery and left quite confused. The attached photo is what I received. Awful presentation and honestly the cupcakes tasted worse than they look. Extremely hard and stale. It was difficult to cut through some of them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have been frozen before being served to me. They were DEFINITELY not even close to fresh. When I reached out to the bakery they offered me a replacement box, which I obviously did not want. They did not offer any sort of explanation, answer my questions if the cupcakes were fresh or not, etc. When I said I did not want a replacement they did not offer a refund. They did not seem regretful about my experience. I even gave them this feedback directly in a very kind manner and let them know that as a bride interested in their services for my wedding, they are not painting the best picture of their baking, presentation or customer service. There is no way any bride could feel comfortable booking them and feel confident they will deliver a beautiful, tasty cake. They did not acknowledge this feedback. Overall,...
