I used this service for over two years, ordering between 5 and 7 meals a week, and had good experiences with their customer service up until this summer. They have clearly taken a turn for the worse, and have abandoned their loyal customers. For the previous two years, they had a loyalty rewards program where by you could get a free week of meals for having 6 months (26 weeks) of orders. I redeemed a free week in July 2024 and in December 2024. However, around the end of August, I'd earned another free week, but I went on vacation and when I returned, they'd revamped the reward program and my pending reward was nowhere to be found. I couldn't imagine that they'd steal something from me, at least not without appropriate notice, e.g. "use any rewards by Aug 31 or they will be voided". No--instead, their "Issue Resolution Center" insisted that it was a "one time only" reward, and I'd used mine in December. I was pissed, and getting no where, and went to cancel the service over this deceptive behavior, but when I went to cancel, it told me if I stayed, I'd get a PERMANENT 10% discount (see screenshots), so I accepted the award and hoped that perhaps I could get elevated to someone who could respect the value of a long term customer and of doing the right thing. So when their "Client Satisfaction Manager" Sabrina texted me asking if the issue was resolved to my satisfaction, I stated it wasn't, and provided the screen shots below to prove I'd redeemed the award more than once, and that I would like my free week of meals to be honored. After going back and forth, I was told they would offer me just "two free meals" or "five juices" as a gesture of goodwill. After claiming that even the CEO was aware of my situation, and he wouldn't grant me the reward I had already earned. When my order went through, I noticed my 10% permanent discount was missing and I was showing the normal charge for 5 meals, no indication of either 2 free meals (either as monetary credit or additional meals), and I opened a new ticket to ask them to verify that the 2 meals I'd been promised in text from the Client Satisfaction Manager would be applied and that my 10% would be applied. They responded in a way that made it sound like it would all be sorted out soon. When I received my order on Sunday, I had SEVEN meals instead of the five I ordered. I didn't want additional meals added to my order, and when I reached out to CSM Sabrina about this, she lamely apologized for any confusion but it was never a "meal credit" it was always "free meal" which is confusing, she admits. And so rather than credit me the cost of the two meals I paid for, the doubled down on keeping me dissatisfied, and then I told her to cancel my account. She warned me that my "10% discount" would not be something I could get back if I signed up again. No worries, I'm not coming back. But then, shortly thereafter, the Issue Resolution Center, which had previously stated that my 10% discount would be credited to me in a few business days, said that they would not be crediting me because they already gave me two free meals. Not ANYWHERE was I told that accepting the free meals would negate my PERMANENT discount of 10%. So here's my story and fair warning to you--don't expect them to do the right thing, they are managed by a team that definitely doesn't believe in customer loyalty, nor the timeless business adage that the customer is always right. Besides which, the quality kept dropping as the price kept climbing, as other recent reviews have noted. Go elsewhere if you like being respected as a loyal customer.

I have been doing this meal prep program for four weeks now and highly recommend!! I have lost a total of 10 pounds just by clean eating. I have a shoulder issue at the moment, so other than 45min walks that is all the exercise I do. I originally joined factor, but after two weeks decided to try something else. I found MPS on Facebook and read about the program. I was excited at having breakfast as part of the routine as I never ate breakfast and then would purchase fast food or too many calorie Mexican food. The other issue with factor was it was shipped in a cardboard box with the ice packs from wherever and I had to do the recycling. MPS picks up the bag and ice packs each week when they drop off. Having a company be local is a plus. I’m not sure where people who have posted poor reviews about this company are coming from, but my experience has been top notch. The food is amazingly great, I have not had anything I didn’t like yet. If there are tastes that you don’t like, then they will adjust for you. I’m on the weight loss program so I get three meals for M-F, 15 in total about 1500 calories per day. Expect chicken, beef, sausage, pork, and fish as regular staples with lots of veggies and a small portion of carbs. Meals are packed in small sealed containers and are good for about 7 days. I microwave all of them. My method is to pull all the plastic off, dump the sauce on top. Microwave at level 8 for 2:30-3:00. I have a plastic plate topper from IKEA that steams everything nicely and keeps splatter off the sides. Boiled eggs are the only item I take out before microwaving, just drop the time by :30 and when done, put eggs back and do the :30. I personally think the price is fair and I think I have saved not just time but money too. I definitely can’t make a different breakfast every morning and not waste or overeat!! I think $12 is the average for 15 meals per week. I would easily spend $15-20 for lunch and always overeat. Dinner cost a lot to make one good size meal or eating out is so much more. I attached two pictures of just one days meals this week. It’s pretty gourmet!!

First and only time using a meal prep service, and was loyal for a year. Overall, I was impressed. Lost 15 pounds I didn't know I had in a few weeks and slowly put half of it back on in muscle. Meals were great. As an anti-microwaver, I heated nearly every meal in a skillet and could not tell I was eating (essentially) leftovers. Great flavors, tender meat, and always something new. High-quality ingredients, and I was never bogged down after a meal. Cannot recall any issues from any of my 300+ of meals. Everything was good. I'm not huge on fish, but I always get one for the joints, and they were always delicious. Sear that salmon in the skillet with those blistered tomatoes, mmmmmm. Pro tip, fry the potatoes in bacon grease, And those breakfast brownies, my gosh..... The meals come fresh, but they freeze well if needed. Stir the cream sauces well, and they'll sprout back to life. Juices were good, too. Seemed expensive, but I stuck with them because my gut health noticeably improved when taking them. I'd drink half of one here, half there to spread the nutrients out. Ghost pepper juice is oddly irresistible...and my wife loved the beet juice. Honestly, they were all a treat. If there are any potential drawbacks, I would say some meals are slightly overpriced (at full price) and I'd occasionally question the protein content claims, but when you factor in the loyalty program, quality of meals, and your gians, MPS is a good value overall. Their app and site are OK (easy to use and improving), and their ticket center can be a little wonky, but they always handled any rare issue I had to my satisfaction. Thanks MPS Team for helping me get shredded like a bag of cheese. If I wasn't moving 2700 miles away, I'd still be with yinz!

So I’ve tried probably 80% of meal prep companies.

Here are the problems with all of the other meal prep companies that I’ve tried that made it so I couldn’t stay consistent:

They gave me the uncooked ingredients and I have to cook myself (I don’t have the time, nor do I enjoy cooking) They didn’t have enough protein per meal. Some have like just 20 grams of protein and high fat Way too expensive. Like $20+ per meal Great macros (protein, carbs, and fats) but tasted terrible. Like literally almost no seasoning. And they’d say, “Ya we don’t put any healthy sauce or seasoning so that you can add your own”) Too much sodium and just as bad of ingredients as fast food. Also tasted bad. Might as well eat fast food. Customer service was also bad for many, and one time one forgot to put ice in the travel box and the food was dangerously warm after sitting out in the summer sun for 4 hours and they wouldn’t give me a refund. Some didn’t track macros, which then I might as well eat out. Many have the same meals every week, no variety. Like one company had the same 8 meals and that will get old fast and isn’t sustainable in the long run

Here’s been my experience with Meal Prep Sunday: All the meals taste amazing (check very bottom as to how I cook each meal in 6 min). I’ve literally never thrown out at meal because I didn’t like it. They always have some kind of great low calorie sauce or extra in the meal that makes a big difference I get new meals each week, amazing variety Macros logged on each box (calories, protein, fat, carbs) Healthy ingredients (organic produce, grass-fed beef, free range chicken, wild caught seafood) and ingredients all labeled on the meal’s box. Customer service is great. I texted somebody once about an issue and they sent me 5 free meals and I didn’t even ask for it. Another time I went into their support chat and told them a few types of food (fish, certain cheeses, etc) that I didn’t want and they put a note on my account to never include the foods I don’t like. The price is very fair for tasting amazing, cooked already, don’t have to grocery shop, and macros tracked. They are flexible and the deliver my driver texts me every Sunday and they’ll either drop off at my door or they leave in my apartment’s mail room refrigerator.

Here’s the secret to making my Meal Prep Sunday meals taste amazing: I heat up a non stick skillet to medium heat Quick spray of zero calorie avocado spray Add the Meal Prep Sunday meal in without stirring and put a lid on the meal for 2 min (this sears whatever meat and also the lid keeps any meat moist and keeps it from drying out!) Then I stir and flip any meat to other side, replace lid for another 2 min Then I put lid aside and stir for another 1-2 min with any included sauce and the meal is so perfect and taste amazing every time

Meal Prep Sunday is a vital part of achieving my fitness and healthy eating goals and I actually look forward to every meal. I literally haven’t had a bad meal yet; I can’t believe it. I’ve ordered for about 7-8 weeks now.

I wanted to write a long review because it feels so nice to finally find a meal prep company that cares about macros AND taste as well as convenience so I can hit my...

I’ve been using Meal Prep Sunday San Diego for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s been a pretty solid experience. The meals are advertised as macro-calculated, though it’s not entirely clear whether they’re tailored to individual macro needs—something I wish was more transparent or customizable. They have you put in your goals and they calculate macros based off that. The meals have macros but I can’t customize my portion to have less fat to fit My daily macros. They also have a fitness app that you can log these meals and others to track macros. The macros are not synced to the ones given on the website. So if you are like me and track your macros this feature isn’t useable. Still, the meals themselves are delicious. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the ingredients, the flavor, and how well everything reheats without losing taste or texture. The variety is great, and I also really enjoy their juicing options and the compressed juice shots—they’re a nice bonus.

That said, there are a few drawbacks. The biggest issue for me has been the pricing. Their ads and even the packaging prominently display a $4.90 per meal price, but that’s just an initial promotion. After the first week, the price jumps to $12.80 per meal—even with a 15-meal order(their biggest option)—which felt misleading. Transparency on pricing would go a long way. Twice out of the four weeks they have delivered our food to another address. One time they realized and the second when they sent me the photo of the delivery I realized it wasn’t our front door and was able to grab the food before someone else took it. They did offer to get it but I was able to grab it since it was close.

The website is not the most user-friendly—I’ve had instances where items were duplicated in my cart, and editing orders can be challenging. Plus, even though I’m already subscribed, I still get repeated messages asking if I’m going to try the service, which is a bit annoying. (I even got one at midnight which I addressed) they also offer rewards and loyalty discounts one being free shots. It says you can redeem this until Wednesday at 12pm but that is not true. Often times the website glitches and you can’t redeem. I reached out to customer service to redeem it and they were unable to add it even though it was well before the time frame cutoff due to my account being charged for the upcoming week(even though this loyalty discount is no charge they apparently can’t add it if you have been charged) which makes no sense to me at all.

Overall, I would recommend Meal Prep Sunday SD for the taste, convenience, and ingredient quality. They seem to be invested in providing the best service working with retaining their clients and the best ingredients. But if you’re budget-conscious or looking for a seamless digital experience, you might find those aspects a bit frustrating. $768/month for a single person 3 meals a day fives days a week Is a little out...
