We visited the location on September 30th. We went in with such high expectations, given the reviews, but left with tears in our eyes. The staff barely acknowledged us and ended up making us feel horrible. My family was the only colored family there, visibly so. A friend of mine (a white woman) had taken toys for our kids to play and when those toys became a safety hazard, which we agreed it was, this staff member (woman with blond hair) told us to pick up the toys. The problem is that she never asked anyone else if these toys were theirs. She assumed that they were ours and directed the order at my mother-in-law, who was just there visiting from OC. My mother in law got on her knees and picked up the toys and became red out of embarrassment. My friend clarified that the toys were hers and not my family's, but the woman continued to justify her action by stating that it was a safety hazard given that someone almost tripped. Had they just asked who's toys they were, we would have gladly all helped pick them up, but instead we were targeted and made to feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We will not be going to this location again.
We especially don't recommend this location to anyone who is a person of color.
Such a shame because we would have loved to have become...
Read moreA new family winery here in Vista. Has a great tasting room and small outdoor patio area. They almost nailed it on the ambiance outside of the slightly, just a touch loud music.
The wines were delicious and crisp (we tried the Sauvignon blanc) which was perfect for a hot Sunday afternoon.
The tasting room is beautiful and welcoming with nice little touches such as the overhead lamps and the tiny table lamps with LEDs.
There was one bathroom which I could foresee as an issue for a busy day.
I wish the family luck during this very hard time that we are all experiencing with COVID.
They do have a small menu apropos for a winery , offering things such as charcuterie boards etc.
Unfortunately you will pay a little bit more than I am used to. But it seems to be the trend with...
Read moreAbsolutely the best winery in Southern California. Burtech sources their grapes from Napa, Sonoma, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek and even offer some delicious varietals using local estate grapes from Encinitas. Their entire staff is so welcoming and friendly. Make sure to say hi to Brittany, Elise and Tanner, they will make you feel like you’re at home. We love visiting Burtech, sipping on amazing wine, listening to some of the best local bands in town and eating some of the best pizza on the planet. It was an unexpected bonus for sure. Horacio, the pizza maker, has successfully curated the best pizza on the planet. I’ve had amazing pizza all over the world, including Italy, and Horacio’s pizza rivals any...
