If you like soggy homefries and burnt eggs, well then you've found your place. Don't mention this to the staff though or they will call the cops on you. The owner is a tool. I asked the nice waitress if they have ever received a compliment on their homefries. She has been there a long time. She shook her head and said, "no, not ever". I said, "don't you think the owner/chef should know this? He might want to work on his menu because there is going to be a new breakfast place opening up in a couple weeks just a block away. He's going to need to compete now that he will no longer have the only breakfast place in downtown Wadsworth." That was it. I didn't yell or curse or make any scene. I didn't whisper either and I'm sure some other patrons heard me. A few moments later the owner walks out from the kitchen towards me. I extend my hand to shake his because I think he is going to want to hear my food complaint and he is going to show some respect to his customer. Instead he refuses to shake my hand and starts waving his finger in my face telling me I have no business telling him how to run his business. He then asks the waitress if the cops are on their way? They never even asked me to leave! Then he asks me to leave and tells me the cops are on their way. I asked if he would like me to pay for my meal first because I don't want to be arrested for walking out on my bill. At this point an officer walks in and I go outside with him to tell him what happened. I also point out there are a bunch of witnesses in the restaurant that can verify my story. Then 3 more cops show up! The cop went in and talked to the owner. He came out and told me that everything I said was verified and I don't have to pay for my food. He also said I'm not allowed back in there and assumes I don't mind that. I don't mind at all. I thanked the officers for their time and apologized that 4 of them needed to be dispatched over something so frivolous namely, the horrible food served inside. What a waste of their time and our tax dollars. The last time I had ate at this place I got sick and swore I would never go back. I obviously wish I wouldn't have and I cant wait for the new...
Read moreI went to lunch here with a friend. I found out that they serve breakfast all day. Pinch me I must be in Heaven. Our server was wonderful and so was our meal. Soup, salad bar and a 2 piece pike with 2 sides. Yes I am in Heaven. I brought my husband here for dinner ( his first time) and we had Megan as our waitress. She was friendly and told us about the specials and what the soup of the day was. We both chose clam chowder and it was delicious. We both had the pike dinner. The salad bar is small but great. Salad, fresh spinach, pasta salad, peppers, mushrooms, cukes, cottage cheese, coleslaw, tomatoes, croutons and bacon bits. Homemade rolls that are so yummy. I had fries with my fish and my hubby had the onion rings. They weren't greasy at all and they were the best onion rings that we have eaten in10 yrs. Megan took our order, pointed us to the salad bar and then returned with our drinks and the rolls. She was constantly checking on us(in a good way.) Making sure that I had enough lemons, that the food was to our liking, making sure that our drinks were full and that we had enough take home boxes. She was so professional and it's been years since we had a waitress that knew what she was doing. ( note to the owner, you have the best wait staff and busboys of any place we have eaten in years. Megan is a treasure. So was the waitress when I came for lunch and I apologize for not asking your name). We were so full when we left. I have never eaten that much in my life. I will be back for breakfast. I forgot there was fresh fruit on the salad bar. I only wish that I could give you...
Read moreReally great local food and atmosphere. Definitely "soul food" style cooking and menu matches the style of cooking. Good food for a small privately owned and operated restaurant. Prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for the portion sizes you get! Just be warned, tons of butter in the home fries! Consumers with high cholesterol, this may not be the spot for you! We were the only people of the Caucasian influence, which is NOT a bad or negative comment! Hopefully I don't offend anyone. I just wanted to give a honest depiction of my family and my experience! Staff were very friendly and other patrons were very friendly and helpful with questions about the area. I'd like to thank the older African American gentleman. who we fished beside at Lake Erie all day, for suggesting this restaurant to us! Just a quick warning, if you are using GPS of any kind to find your way back from the restaurant, you will probably get lost in some rough and tough deserted areas of Cleveland's "East side." Probably be a good idea to save your directions coming to and just reverse them to avoid rougher areas that you should probably avoid if you have younger children with you. Hope you also enjoy your Alexandris...
