We decided to have breakfast here after perusing the menu and seeing the Pittsburghese calling our names and boy were we happy! It was a busy Saturday morning and we were seated right away. The customer service was great and the food was even better. We ordered the Texas French toast with a cinnamon swirl & Dan's Barnyard from the waitress's recommendation. The french toast was amazing, the best we ever had. It normally comes with a glaze on it which we skipped. The bread was fluffy , crisp & tasty. Dan's Barnyard is a lot of food, unless you split it with another you can plan on getting a to-go box. The gravy covers the eggs, biscuits & sausage. At first my boyfriend was skeptical of it but the more he ate it the tastier it got. The sausage was good, the biscuit was flaky & the sausage gravy was homemade goodness. It definitely was a great meal and he will enjoy the leftovers.
We returned for dinner and again it was spot on. There was a woman singing for entertainment but we sat outside since it was a beautiful chilly night. Our waitress was vibrant and cheery. We ordered the Crawfish Étouffée & Gumbo of the day which had Andouille sausage, shrimp & cod. The Étouffée was spicy hot so if you don't like heat skip this meal but if you like the spiciness definitely order this meal. It was a very good Étouffée considering we weren't in the south along the gulf and rivals some of the others that I have tried. The gumbo was tasty and hearty. It wasn't that spicy, came with a small serving of cod & 4 shrimp. The cod didn't add anything to the dish but it is not a strong tasting fish. The gumbo is definitely a good choice. I ordered the bloody mary as they touted their own secret recipe and quite tasty and spicy it was. I only wish the owners (one of which is from Da 'Burgh) would open a Village Cafe...
Read moreI've lived in Wadsworth for a few years now and am sort of a homebody. I don't like going out to eat very often and when I do I typically try to do carryout. My first experience with Valley Cafe was the carryout. I got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel and home fries which came HIGHLY recommended. Everything about my meal was DELICIOUS.. still hot when I got home. I returned to Valley Cafe for the second time this past weekend with my mother who was visiting from out of town. She LOVES dining out, so I thought this would be a good reason to go back to Valley Cafe and try the dine-in experience. I haven't been this impressed in years, if ever. Everyone was SO nice and friendly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and I never once questioned whether or not my business was appreciated there. Our drinks never went below 3/4 full. This time I got the breakfast burrito which came with the (to-die-for) home fries AND two pancakes. HOLY CANNOLI. I cannot express how pleased my tummy was! Not only is this place in walking distance (so its a great excuse to get some exercise,) the people there are out-of-this-world friendly, the food is TREMENDOUS (per everyone's opinion,) and its just an adorable place to go get some damn delicious grub. I will return Valley Cafe. And I will return hungry. Thanks again for such a delightful...
Read moreReally great first time visit! Was visiting a friend in town and we both visited for the first time with several children. They have a nice patio, but the inside is really cutely decorated with cheerful yellow walls and dog paintings. The only downside was the acoustics are… not great. Imagined cafeteria acoustics.
The food was really great. I was starving when I arrived and the waitress recommend their “breakfast croutons” which essentially tasted like elevated, addicting French toast stick bites on a syrupy base. Like I said, addicting!
We both had wraps for lunch with French fries and side salads. I almost wish I had gotten a salad for my entree as the salad base was a really nice spring mix and the toppings were finely chopped and well mixed- just the way I prefer a salad. I also had one of their several mimosa options which was enjoyable. The prices I thought were reasonable.
The manager (owner?) stopped by our table before we left to check in on us. Overall, just a really high quality place for a “small town”. Would definitely recommend a stop and only wish I lived closer because I think I’d...
