Arrived between 7 and 7:30 on a Saturday evening. We did manage to snag the last open table. Busy and noisy, which I would expect. We were waited on promptly by Teri (who I know). I ordered a flight with River Styx Monster double IPA, Under The Mistletoe Stout, Yo Jingle This IPA and I have forgotten the fourth. I can’t say enough about the beer. Very delicious, especial the double IPA and the stout. Absolutely brilliant how you managed to make a beer taste a little like a York peppermint patty. The monster double IPA was also very drinkable considering the beer type and the ABV. My complaint about this place is regarding the food. I ordered the pulled pork nachos with high hopes. I was sadly disappointed, as they resembled gas station or stadium nachos. Those stamped out, round, identical corn chips with no corn flavor packed into a basket vertically with that fake liquid cheese poured over them. Topped off by pedestrian salsa from a jar, scant pork and jalapenos. Most chips had no topping on them, while the ones in the middle were soggy from the liquid cheese. Nachos should be spread out on a plate so the toppings can be distributed evenly. I suggest using real ingredients authentic chips, real melted cheese and fresh salsa. When I visit a craft brewery, I have an expectation of comparable food to compliment the very delicious beer. On a brighter note, we all liked the stout so much, I’m planning to get a growler for Christmas day. So 1 star for the food and 4 for the beer gets a 3 for having some...
Read moreI never write bad reviews, but today I am fairly disappointed. The beer is adequate. I thought the basic blonde ale, Thelma Lou, tasted "soapish", and the shandy was a bit sweet. I suppose I'd give other beers another try. But what I'm most disappointed about is the food/service. I understand they say that they're not a full kitchen, but they forgot our order. I've never had a bar/restaurant forget my order, but we waited over an hour for our pizza. When I asked when it might be coming out, the first person ran to check on it, then our original waiter came out and said that he forgot to put our order in. He only asked if we still wanted it, never offered a true apology or any kind of concession for screwing up the order. We ordered pretzels for an appetizer, which were pretty good, but they brought us the wrong order. The staff member asked if we touched the pretzels because if we didn't they could give them to the correct customer. We've been excited to try out WBC since we moved to the area last Summer. I'm extremely disappointed as I always want to support local businesses. The combination of okay beer and subpar service puts WBC at a 1 star for me. Don't know if we'll go back or not, but if we do I hope they prove me wrong. Shame as I was excited to have a hometown brewer. Others may have better experiences and I...
Read moreI’ve been here twice: Last time I was here it was slower and service seemed much better. Today it was pretty busy. Ordered a beer and a Pierogi pizza with bacon. Ate two pieces, finished my beer and then sat for a verrrrrrryyyyyyyy long time. Once the bartender finally came back to check on me. I ordered two sauces to try, another small beer and a water. Water was warm and no ice or straw. I’m not really a picky person but it kind of seemed like bare minimum service. Again it was probably because it was busy but even the guy next to me (who seemed to be a regular) was trying to help me out by asking someone who works there if I could get some sauce on the side.
Idk - for $34 bucks I wasn’t too impressed. Maybe I’m just having an off day. I don’t really leave reviews, and definitely not negative ones. Still still left more than 20% tip, even though the experience was not that great. I guess I always try to give everyone the benefit...
