Johnny's Pizza Wake Forest — Restaurant in Wake Forest

I only wish I could give it zero stars. This will be the last time I eat at this atrocious place. We live about 20 minutes away and we ordered 2 Stromboli’s (both with different toppings) and 2 garlic sauces. So we get all the way back home from picking it up and of course, they forgot the sauce I was charged for. So we drive all the way back out to get the sauce (another 20 minutes). We drive back home (another 20 minutes), heat our Strombolis back up, and try again. This time, we find out that both strombolis had the exact same ingredients. Mine came with mushrooms (which i didn’t ask for and I’m also allergic to). So we call back (and refused to drive back for the 3rd time). We asked for them to deliver it to us. The fact that the manager told us that we need to give him the original Stromboli is absolutely astounding. Of course we still had it…we weren’t trying to gain anything from their mistake and get a free stromboli. 🙄 But they could at LEAST have had the decency to let us keep it (because my husband ordered mushrooms) as a consolation prize for having to wait 2 hours to finally get what we ordered. So of course, we will give them back the cut-into Stromboli (which they will throw away because who takes back food that’s already been at someone’s house?) They did nothing. They gave us no discount, and barely an apology. They are on their way out here as I write this to give me the stromboli that I actually ordered. Do you think I’m crazy enough to eat that? Because I’m not. Who knows what kind of surprise is under the cheese and pepperoni. Lesson learned. Never again.

*update: They just delivered the new one. Now tell me, would YOU eat THAT??? Something is in a large puddle in the side of the box. Is it grease? Who can tell. But it looks disgusting. 🤢

** update AGAIN: I did not go and update this review after cutting into that final Stromboli that they delivered. But I had to go back to say this: They actually put MUSHROOMS again!! After allllllllllllll that, they put the wrong ingredient again. At that point, we gave up. Wasn’t...

I've eaten here many times and the food is good. I never like it when one instance of bad customer service turns me off from a decent place. In this case I drove out 20 minutes to pick up an online order. When I got home I noticed that one of the sauces we had paid for wasn't included. That's fine, I got in my car and drove back. I picked up the sauce and came back we cut into the Strombolis and found that we had two that were identical (both containing mushrooms) instead of the two different ones I ordered (one mushroom, one bacon). Since i didn't want to drive out a third time after a long day i called up the place and asked that the correct item be delivered. They agreed but the manager treated me as if I was trying to get free food from them by insisting that we return the incorrect Stromboli.

Something about this exchange just rubbed me completely the wrong way. I've already wasted most of my evening after a long day at work dealing with this. I didn't ask them to take anything off the bill but I felt like they should give some kind of concession or consideration given that they were the cause of the problem. I got the sense that me being a paying, polite customer wasnt important to them. (I never raised my voice or got angry... maybe I should have?) Either way I just have a poor impression of their customer service and will not be back. Having worked a lot of customer service jobs I know good service when I see it. I also know that mistakes happen. It's how you handle the mistake that determines whether I want to give you my money again.

…edit: the one that the driver brought to us had mushrooms also…. I know I explained carefully on the phone that we did not want mushrooms. Either they really weren’t listening or they sent that deliberately. Neither one increases my opinion of...

My family and I ate here tonight and we have absolutely fallen in love with it. The staff was kind, helpful, and amazing and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and everything was clean, comfortable, and easy to find.

When our food came out, we were surprised to actually find extra garlic knots in our order. We had two pizzas, one cheese and one buffalo, but everything was cooked to perfection. The crusts had a nice crisp to them but were still soft inside and the quality of the ingredients was amazing.

I loved the fact that our appetizer was sent out first and our pizzas came out not even 10 minutes later -perfect timing! Since we had our toddler with us, I was also thrilled when the gentleman who brought us our appetizer came back with plates. Even better the staff made sure to check on us while we ate, which was wonderful.

We will absolutely be back here again and are already making plans to do so. I love that even though the atmosphere is casual, the staff made sure to treat every single guest as though they were being waited on. It really gives a cozy and caring feel. Keep up the great...
