Bellino's Trattoria — Restaurant in Wakefield

I visited your establishment today, Wednesday 27 May 2015.

This was the most disappointing dining experience I have ever had. As soon as we sat down the server told us how bad her day was, what a jerk her boss was and how demanding her customers were. I’m not sure what your training policies are but I felt this was totally inappropriate and made us feel uncomfortable. She was so angry that she only asked 2 out of the 3 of us what we wanted to drink and ran off. She seemed annoyed when we asked for ice in our water, as it was about 90 degrees outside and we were sitting on the deck. She was resetting the tables around us and banging plates down. When finally the 3rd person in our party received her drink, she realized the fresh mint was missing. After waiting 15 minute for Lisa to return she finally went in to the main dining room and asked for the mint to be added to the drink. She mentioned to the manager on duty that Lisa was making our meal unpleasant ~ the managers solution was calling Lisa over so my friend and Lisa could talk things out. Again who does your training?

As a result I will never return to Bellino’s and we also tell everyone how poorly your servers and managers are. The bread was very stale, the salad I had was not worth the price I paid.

Bobby the owner is fabulous. I called on Thursday before they opened about making a reservation for 2-3 people for the following night, and he answered. I explained that I wanted to do a small surprise celebration for an academic achievement my daughter was being nationally acknowledged for, but she had yet to learn of, as the school had emailed me a letter of congratulations, prior to telling her. While they don't generally take reservations for parties that small, Bobby told me to ask for him when we arrived, and he made my daughter feel so special and like she was the most important patron in the restaurant. He is amazing! And, so was the food. We've only ever done takeout in the past, butwe will absolutely be back, soon and often, because nothing beats the in person experience. Thank you for making this day so memorable! You have no idea the mark you made. People don't go out of their way like that in today's world. It was greatly appreciated, Bobby!

UPDATE: Went again and although the steak Verona was cooked to a higher temperature than requested, they are so flavorful that we enjoyed them,...

We were looking for a place around the lake to sit outside. Bellino's had a 4.2 on Google, so we gave it a shot. The place seems nice, with a relaxed atmosphere. There were four of us and we sat outside amongst the sirens and Harleys... aka "loud noise". The waitress was great, but the food was just so so. We all had similar results. The bread baskets being served looked and tasted like cut up hot dog rolls you'd buy at Stop and Shop. For my main dish, I ordered the "Shrimp and Artichoke". The shrimp were dry and hard, typical texture for old, frozen shrimp. The penne pasta was under cooked and swimming in some form of soup, with mediocre flavor... No, the soup was not supposed to be there. There were leftovers and nobody wanted to take them home. The place is also quite pricey, considering the sub par quality meal. I wouldn't go back and I certainly wouldn't recommend this...
