The Bread Basket — Restaurant in Walden

This is about customer service and not the food. I was going to the Bread Basket every Friday and when I do, I write my name and number on a receipt for a chance to win their free cake. This past Saturday, I saw a missed call from the Bread Basket (so the day after I filled out the receipt). I returned the call within a few minutes. The woman on the phone tells me “oh, I didn’t call you” and I asked if maybe anyone else did (keep in mind, she isn’t asking if I had an order that maybe they called me about, she’s not even saying, “let me ask if anyone else called you,” she’s just insistent that no one called me). I told her I saw their number in my missed call log and clicked it to return their call. Again she denied it and said that “it must have been a wrong number.” What?! There’s no way they could have accidentally called my number (a totally different area code) by mistake and it’s 100% their number that called me.

Look, it’s not about winning a cake. I certainly don’t NEED the free cake. It’s the fact that this woman on the phone straight up lied to me. What terrible customer service. It made me really sad and I really have no desire to step foot in...

the breads, cakes and muffins are to die for, but it's the service and hospitality of the manager that will kill you. i'm not saying that some of the staff isn't nice and helpful, but every time i'm in there or try to make an order they seem put off that i'm taking up their time. add to that the fact that they would not pay for a mistake that THEY made with an order i made, I will NOT be going back there. Sad, i've been going there for over 10 years, telling people how good it is, but that mistaken order was the last straw. do yourself a favor and go to the E. Brainerd branch if you want some Bread Basket...

Definitely my favorite bread and snack bakery, I’m partial to them as I work here as a baker. Not only do we learn some awesome skills but the management treats us better than anywhere I’ve ever worked. Plus the cream cheese muffins are to die for along with a sliced sour loaf.
