Delicious, authentic food & coffee that’s worth the hype! My mom & I stopped by on a whim to check out this new brunch spot on Friday of Memorial Day weekend. We snagged a table for two right around 9 am with no wait, but it definitely was a 25 minute wait by 9:30 am. The hush puppies are a MUST try, and all other foods we sampled were equally delicious! Service was friendly and inviting. It was definitely a busy atmosphere so it’s a place you can take your kids without worrying that it’ll bother anyone. There were plenty of families seated when we got there. We did wait a little on the longer side for food and coffee BUT honestly, it’s all made fresh (indicated on the menu) and they only opened two weeks ago. I had breakfast at Wake this morning and it's my new favorite spot. The space has a calm coastal feel and is very visually appealing. Next for the coffee. I had a cold brew with a lil milk. So good and flavorful-- excellently delicious! Nice caffeine levels too. Then the food. I ordered the egg platter with a side of bacon and a wake cake. The platter comes with a small mixed greens salad, potatoes and sourdough toast. All SO GOOD. The bacon was thick and juicy. The pancake was yummy and filling but not heavy at all. All the young women working there were so nice and attentive. The sweet cinnamon latte I had was so stickin good and beautiful … I ordered one to go. I had a PEC which was tender and cheesy. The rippers were tasty and so crispy . Upon checking out I spotted their pastry case. And took a piece of the crumb cake to go as well. I asked if they made them there - she said no - but let me tell you - that crumb cake was to die for so moist and buttery the crumb was glacier size and so flavorful.
