Brunch Saturday & Sunday from 12pm 🤩 #njrestaurants #mexicanrestaurant #mexicanfood #wallingtonnj #peruvianfoodie #peruviancuisine

Wowwwww this place has amazing food!!! Like literally amazing we both had the pechuga enamorada ( in love chicken breast ) literally AMAZINGGGGGGGGG!!!! Now on to the reason I’m giving 4 stars when I should be giving 1 star!!! There’s a waitress apparently named Jasmine from what we were told because she never even gave us her name. I’m going to call her “ Miss I’m not happy this is my job “ she was the only waitress when we arrived and she was not happy about it and we could tell! She wasn’t even around when we arrived she was in the back hiding or something. The bartender went and grabbed her so she could check our temperature.. that took about 5 minutes. Then we sat & we were only the second table in the restaurant it was very empty when we arrived. Our waitress sat us and forgot about us several times.. we would ask for water and nothing... we asked for recommendations on drinks and nothing she would tell us she was coming right back and she would take forever to come back. Never did she tell us it was happy hour or what any specials were or anything!!!! We ended up ordering a margarita flight which came with Mango, Guava, Passion Fruit and a Classic margarita. To be honest I only really liked the passion fruit which is weird because I always love mango more but this time the passion fruit outdid itself! The guava one was okaaaayyy.... but the classic one had wayyyy too much sour mix!! So we could’ve done without the flight to be honest... While waiting for our order I guess our waitress shift was over or she was on lunch break or something because out of nowhere we started being held by a whole new waitress, and we were never told about the switch it just happened which led us to be very confused. Howeverrrrrr our replacement waitress Brenda?!?! She was literalllllly amazing! I wouldn’t be surprised if she was related to the owner or something because she was busting her behind and she was on top of everything and she had just clocked in!! As soon as she came over she told us about the specials, happy hour etc she literally brought the place to life by just working and being friendly!!!! Everyone’s attitude in the establishment changed it even got a little louder as people were in a better mood and started to chat. We even talked to a few other tables and everyone felt the same way!! That was crazy!! We all shared the same concern about our first waitress Jasmine and then we were raving about Brenda!! She really did that!! She had every table trying their seasonal drink the “ spring break “ it comes in a pouch that looks like a patron tequila bottle!! Very fun, strong and tasted very good!!! I will say that the happy hour drink options are a bit trash. They only have the four flavors on the margarita flight, which are mango, guava, passion fruit, & the classic... so the other flavors are an up charge which is ridiculous to charge an up charge on flavored syrup when the others are on happy hour.... dumb as hell but whatever. Other then our unpleasant experience with jasmine and the happy hour drink options this place is a vibe!!! We told the bar manager about our experience. I definitely would come back here especially for brunch as they seemed to have great options on the weekend!!! Thank you Brenda for your excellent service & for turning our experience around! We all appreciate you!!

I'll start with the good. The atmosphere and ascetics of this restaurant are top-notch. Everything feels hip, premium, and vibrant. The music is appropriate, and their facilities are clean. The food is a mixed bag. The drinks are strong and delicious; I tried their passion fruit sangria and the personal bottomless mango mimosa. Both were very good. I also had the fish tacos and the churros, which were also delicious. However, we ordered the fried calamari, and it was abysmal. It tasted cheap and slightly expired. I am mixed on this review because while the food was decent overall and service was adequate. I have to take issue with the business practices of this restaurant. I went here with my wife for Sunday brunch and was displeased with a few things. The first was that some of the items on the menu, specifically the birria tacos, were unavailable despite literally being on the brunch menu. Secondly and the most egregious was the 20% automatic gratuity added to the bill. I don't mind the 20%, but someone could have communicated that with us before slapping the tab on the table. Is this because their servers have been stiffed in the past? Or was it because it was a holiday? The reason to me doesn't matter, but what does matter is that you communicate that with your guests. Also, the bill had a $5 credit card use fee even though I was paying with cash. These are the little things that can prevent repeat business. There are many great restaurants and brunch spots in the metro area, and to stay competitive, you must pay attention to the details. I didn't get a chance to ask other guests if they were subjected to the 20% automatic gratuity. Still, in my heart, I hope they were and that we weren't targeted for whatever reason. I wound up giving more than the 20% out of anger, so this tactic worked, but I can tell you that it didn't work for me recommending this restaurant or ever coming back.

First let me tell you to NEVER go to this place. That being said, the positive, so that there is some objectivity. The back room decor is nice. Ok that’s the only positive! SERVICE has to be one of the worst I have experienced in quite some time. If you are thirsty, good luck getting a glass of water, I asked several times and only received a refill after I flagged over a gentleman nearby bussing a table, He, not the waitress got me water. I asked for sauces, again it was him who got it for me, not the waitress. Speaking to her was absolutely pointless, it was in one ear out the other. FOOD was over priced, nothing special, run off the mill, simple, cafeteria style Mexican food. You are paying possible 50% more than usual for the decor of back room. Now the big reason not to ever go! You will get a massive surprise on you bill. I expect to pay for what I ordered. Not only was that on the bill but so was a surprise credit card service fee, and 20% gratuity. No where in the restaurant or menu does it mention either extra charges. When I confronted the waitress as to why for 2 people gratuity was added, her response was “it’s Saturday,” as if that means anything to me. She then sensing how upset I was, she removed the fees and gratuity. I thought great, so I gave her my card, thinking everything is settled. Then surprise surprise! My card was charged higher then my new receipt. I asked for the manager, he walked to the table about 5 min later, by the way, the restaurant was about 30% full so he wasn’t busy at all. His body language was absolutely terrible and stood in front of the table and said nothing. I then, asked very simply why my card was charged higher then my receipt. He said “a fee was added.” I was irritate at that point, telling him the receipt shows one amount he cannot charge another. Even when I asked the manager where is any of these charges or automatic gratuities listed, he said “it’s not listed anywhere.” In the end, if you do not want to be nickel and dimed for your hard earned money, DO NOT GO! You will have about 25% extra of a surprise on your bill. Whether you spend $5 or $5000 you don’t expect to walk out of a restaurant disrespected and angry, unfortunately that’s how I was left feeling. I will NEVER go back or recommend that place to anyone, there are so many better options minutes from...
