Mona's Burgers & Shakes — Restaurant in Walnut Creek

Tried Mona's at Happy hour (2-5pm) Ordered the 1/4 hamburger and fries. I added parm. cheese to hot skinny fries for $1, great!, Had my choice of burger, I picked Hawaiian which had cheese, pineapple slice and ham with teriyaki sauce, very juicy and good. He had bacon and cheese burger plus a side of onion rings, the best I have ever tasted. It was a large amount, large sized rings with a light batter, perfectly hot and crunchy with a dressing for dip. Great menu with many choices from hot wings, salads and many drink choices. Lemonade because it was hot today. Very friendly and welcoming Staff. This is a smaller place inside, pleasant fun decorated with signs and pictures, tables for 4 and a very large seating area outside with shade. OK, so the food is ...decent. However, the reason for my low score despite that is the service that I received today.

I ordered ahead, and when I arrived, I paid. As I was paying, a to-go food order came up in the window (foreshadowing). The server said my food would be ready shortly, so I sat down because, apparently, that wasn't my order. I sat there for maybe 5-10 minutes, just staring at that bag that she never even looked at. Who was I to say "are you sure that's not my order?" That would have been quite presumptuous and condescending, I thought.

After another patron came in, and received his order, she asked for my name. Lo and behold, that to-go bag WAS my order. WHAT!?!?

So, there I sat, wasting my time, and my food getting cold and soggy - for no reason. Absolutely ridiculous. I can't say that I'll be...

Been here a few times before. Don't do burgers often but when we do this is were we go. Wasn't busy on our visit and we opted to sit outside on the patio. It was windy bit luckily the patio is shielded fairly well.

Ordered the drunken burger this time. Burgers come with greens when dining in not fries so you need to order those separately. Ordered large fries to split with my fiancée and ordered a strawberry lemonade to drink.

Fries were excellent, don't always get shoestring fries from places by choice but these were excellent. Burger was wonderful. They do serve shakes but there was no way I was getting anything for dessert after because I was stuffed. Excellent place to get a...
