Tessie's Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Walpole

I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Tessie’s. Our party of seven, which included three children, arrived expecting a nice evening, but we ended up waiting over 50 minutes without any clear updates or explanation. They don’t take reservations, which is understandable, but the way they handle seating is chaotic and unfair. To make matters worse, we saw smaller parties and even friends of the staff who arrived well after us get seated right away, while we were left waiting with restless kids. After all this, we decided to leave because it was clear they had no intention of prioritizing fairness. The lack of organization, communication, and blatant favoritism completely ruined our evening. If you’re planning to dine here with a larger group, especially with children, don’t waste your time. Tessie’s needs to seriously improve their system and customer service.

That was no magic to be done many other lower top with 6 or 7 people clear a party of a similar size of mine seat that new the owner even asked one of the receptionist to talk to her dad who also I think was working there. We had 3 kids and we waited of an hour and it was not Saturday night we arrived 4 pm and we left after a party with the same size of ours sat 10 minutes after they arrived because I felt so disrespected.

Stopped by Tessie’s in Walpole with a few friends the other night, and let me tell you—this place delivers when it comes to burgers. I went with their signature burger, and from the first bite, I knew I had made the right choice.

The patty was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor, topped with fresh ingredients that made every bite better than the last. The bun? Buttery, toasted just right, and held everything together without falling apart. Add in their crispy tots on the side, and you’ve got yourself a meal worth coming back for.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere was casual and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. The service was friendly and quick, even though the place was buzzing.

Went for a weekday lunch a couple of months ago, sat outside. Outside atmosphere is horrible due to the traffic and truck noise, you are sitting right on the sidewalk, corner of a busy intersection. Ordered the Briar Hill burger. Burger is swallowed by the bun. Thick, big bun, small burger. Flavor, once you get past all the bun bread, was a little underwhelming, needed more of the maple glaze. The little it had, was absorbed by the bun. Had potential if the burger to bun ratio was even and more maple glaze so it could be tasted. The fries were just your regular tasting fries, no complaints on those. My lunch partners thought their food was fine, a salad and a sammie with no bread (gluten free patron) but nothing great.
