Dairy-Land — Restaurant in Walterboro

Hmmm, it says I was last there 3 months ago, however I'm at least there once a week. They have great, quick and easy, comfort food in the form of burgers and chicken, milkshakes and ice cream specialties, awesome onion rings, and real Cherry Coke. My wife and I usually order the same thing almost every time I am sent to get food there. She usually gets the chicken livers fried crisp and lightly salted and then a burger made "Old Fashioned" that includes chili, onions and slaw. I usually get the double Jack basket with cheese and bacon. And, don't tell my wife, but I also usually order a BLT sandwich for two bucks that I eat on the way home. Frankly, I do that more for her than I do for me, as eating The BLT on the way home keeps me out of her french fries. Hey, sometimes you have to put other people first. All of the food at Dairyland is absolutely delicious, especially the burgers cooked on a 50 plus -year-old griddle. That is 50 years of flavor, my friends. Did I mention breakfast yet? Oh my...... delicious and priced perfectly. Eggs, bacon, grits, and toast for just over 2 Bucks. Often my wife will wake up and ask if I made her breakfast yet. I tell her yes and then call Dairyland and then go pick it up. That's why I am her hero, or at least one of the reasons. I did mention ice cream, right? Mmmmmm..... delicious, soft serve ice cream in a variety of options. Everything from a soft serve cone, dipped or not, frozen and Blended concoctions with a variety of candy bar fillers, ice cream sundaes, and even banana splits. I am very upset I called my order in at 5:22pm i ask for the total it was very noisy in the back ground and the young man yelled my total didnt even ask my name. So I went to two different stores and arrived to dairyland 6:05 pm. I then went to the window to pay my order the young lady took my money and then said where are you park at I showed her and then I ask was the food done she said she dont know she went to the back and came back and said the food was not ready. So I went to my car seen more people come recieved their food but mines still was not ready. I then went back to the window I was still over look so now its 6:45 p a hour and a half from the time I called in. So I went to get call my husband because my newborn was in the car aswell as my son and they didnt show a sense of urgency. The young lady finally came to the window at 6:50 did not apologize didnt say nothing just slang my food and that's it. I tried to call back ten times to speak to management no answer I am not please and I will not be back. If you have a business make sure your staff is ready to work and is empathetic because you can loose alot of customers for poor...

This is the kind of place you park and walk up to the window. We both had hamburger baskets with fries. There's a choice between fries, tots, and onion rings. $5! Handmade patty on a fresh bun, skinny fries that just needed salt. We passed on shakes bc we both were driving and had met there to swap stuff. Really wanted a chocolate dipped cone...next time. Turns out I'll be driving thru Walterboro soon as kids get moved to Aiken. So yeah, there will definitely be a next time. It was busy at 1 pm on Friday, food took about 15 min. There are a couple of outside tables under an overhang. But it is right next to busy Hwy 17A. My daughter was being nice and offered to buy fries for a skinny woman with a toddler she said was her grandbaby. Kid didn't seem to listen to granny. Anyway it ended up being sandwich & tater tots. My daughter drove off while I sat in truck eating my fries. "Granny" sat down at a table to eat but there was no sign of said grandbaby anymore.
