Regrettably forgettable ‘Italian’. Transparently, we were drawn to Da Vinci by a picture-perfect social media post showcasing their Pasta Tower; truly mouthwatering. After an extended adventure to find parking, we took our seats in the lovely, bistro-like space and browsed the menu. We enquired about the tower and our server parted ways to speak with the manager, whom we could hear sharing with her that the tower is only to be ordered when seated in the patio? Nonetheless, they did accommodate our order and the pasta tower was promptly served.
Yet, as we came to experience, it was far removed from the glamour of its social fame… the bolognese was clearly reheated and tasted like a bottle of wine had been poured into it, the mushroom gnocchi tasted acidic and past it’s prime, the risotto balls were over-fried, with a pesto that tasted unrecognizable, the zucchini fries limp and under-seasoned, and the meatballs… better left as they tasted, frozen from a wholesale club. None of this was portioned enough for 4 people, as advertised, and objectively not priced accurately for what you’re served.
We only showed our quiet disappointment through our lack of appetite and our server eventually cleared the table. I do appreciate that the manager decided to check on why we had barely touched the meal and we were honest. He dishearteningly asked for more specifics, as we then offered, and, while he didn’t refute our feedback, he said he’d take care of it. He didn’t though. No worries, we were patrons and diners after all. We just won’t be dining at Da...
Read moreCOME HERE!!! Courtney, Ravi & Arber are INCREDIBLE! Amazing customer service, food and atmosphere is fantastic. I was super sad when Charcoal Guido’s closed at this location but was pleasantly surprised when this place exceeded my expectations at every turn. Atmosphere: They don’t stuff you in here like sardines like before and the lighting is better. Food: I mean, you like Italian, you’ll love it here. The menu will satisfy your Italian food cravings. Arancini is top notch. My friend got chicken parm and I got the Lasagna - yes, generic Italian food but I had to try the staples, come on. Honestly, I can’t wait to go back to try many of the other menu options. HOMEMADE LEMONCELLO?! Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes. We had the Blood Orange lemoncello and Watermelon lemoncello. Absolute perfection. Service: I felt like I was the only one in the restaurant. So attentive, helpful with the menu and patient with my dumb questions lol. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the food because I ate it too fast. I did, however, remember to take pics of the drinks, bread, and...
Read moreI had heard great things about the Sudbury location so we decided to try this place. The restaurant was quite, not too many people, considering it was Saturday night. The 2 restaurants on each side (Tempo & Amuleto) were very busy, even at 9:30pm when we left. We chose to sit outside as it was a nice night but the car/motorcycle noise was at time annoying. The waiter and waitstaff were very attentive. We ordered some apps, the calamari was overcooked but it was good. The Italian sausage was average and the burrata with tomato & basil was good. I ordered the chicken parm and it was good, big portion. My husband ordered the beef tenderloin and even thought hey asked him how he wanted it cooked (medium), it was overcooked. Our friend ordered the Seafood Tagliatelle FraDiavolo and it was very average and his wife got the Masala Ravioli and again, it was average. We found the prices to be high for the quality of food. Not sure...
