The food was above average and the ambiance was cozy. It was our first time at this fine establishment and we were excited to enjoy what we thought was a $4 Taco Tuesday special. When we received our bill, were were surprised to see that all of our tacos were full price. When we asked our server about the promotion, he said there was nothing he could do. He admitted they failed to communicate the specifics of the promo and that we were rightly disappointed. The manager soon after came to defend his establishment’s promotion. He stated that we should have read the sign outside (attached) for clarification. He said the specific tacos the promotion covered were listed on the sign. They were not. He also said we should have looked at the website for more information. After looking at their site, the tacos covered were indeed listed, but the special was at a different price (21 instead of 23 on the sign outside). He then added we also could have read the walls in the bathroom. He mentioned the receipts have a note about the promotion on the bottom, but this would be seen after the bill is already printed. Not to mention, we reviewed the receipt of the friend who referred us to the restaurant (attached), and again there were no specifics. The manager was proud that they have been running the promotion for over 6 years and that we should have known. He ended with saying that the point of the promotion was to get people to unknowingly order away so that the next time they went to visit they’d then know how to receive the promotion. To be clear, this is not a complaint about the price of our bill. The food and drinks were good. This is a complaint about the false and predatory advertising practices this restaurant uses. Rather than understanding where we were coming from and extending some type of olive branch, the manager argued with us for a good 5 minutes and we were told there was nothing anyone could do and that next time we’ll know better. Amuelto, I hate I have to write this. But the way you handled our issue was not on par with the quality of your food. I hope you change your practices around promoting the Taco...
Read moreWent there recently August 2021... 2 updates. Rearranged tents much nicer atmosphere decor and spacing. Fell in love with pulpo (octopus and pork belly) taco. WOW flavor not over the top but well balanced textures and range of mouth watering flavors. Really liked cucumber infused margarita. Drinks overall very good.
We LOVE the food and atmosphere there! On the outside it looks generic but cool tasteful upscale casual decor that creates a better atmosphere with the lights dimmed enhanced by the Latin music. Both the seating and bar are medium or just right size for a more intimate experience as opposed to a crowded chain establishment. The drinks are awesome with high end or organic tequila options. Covid precautions added a large white tent with plastic windows several large openings for ventilation several heaters and plenty of sting lighting. It does not have the charm of the indoors but it's a safe environment plenty of tables properly spaced out. The music could be a little louder but the food is still terrific. The tortilla soup is awesome and every Taco we tried was delicious. The only disappointment was that guacamole for us. My wife is Latin and makes her own. In our taste it was under seasoned not enough salt or lime. That would be the only negative I would say. Try it out you will not be...
Read moreThis review is based on my visit on Wednesday June 16th, 5:00 PM When I arrived I did not realize that the restaurant started its operations at 5PM, I arrived 45 minutes early, and the staff was setting the table. The host very kindly allowed me to choose my table, which I really appreciate. Once we were seated, we were attended by a young man from Honduras, who I apologize for not remembering his name, but the important thing was that his service was remarkable. I have to say that we enjoyed every single bite of the meal ... We had a 3 course meal: - Course # 1 Taco Torito & Taco Barbacoa, Course # 2 Puerco al Tamarindo & Camarones al Tomatillo, Course # 3 Flan & dulce de Leche, with a couple of Passion fruit margaritas. That was Amazing! ... Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Ideal for those who want a fun night out. There was also plenty of room for bigger groups. The decoration is Stunning, the music is happy and contagious. I rate this restaurant five stars, since I have traveled to Mexico many times, I have visited different states like Cancun, Acapulco, Merida, Playas Mujeres, and Tegucigalpa, and so far Amuleto is the only restaurant in which I find similarity to authentic Mexican food. Thank you and keep up the quality, both in the food and drinks and in the service. I...
