I went there last night with my husband, the food was okay. But the waiter with glasses was rude and had no manners. For example, I'm trying to talk with my husband telling him what parathas are (as he's white) and this waiter just jumps in and mansplained, as if I didn't know what I was talking about. In another example my husband is taking my photo and the same waiter just jumped in and said why are you taking a photo, you're already so beautiful. I mean, the audacity of this guy!!! If I wasn't worried about him spitting in my food I would have given him my 2 cents right then and there. But is this how they train their employees? The waiter without glasses was super nice and respectful but the one with glasses had no manners on how to talk to customers, or respect their privacy and hit on me when he felt like it.
This is unacceptable and really ridiculous in itself. He also made my husband feel extremely uncomfortable by glaring at him while filling his water or during other interactions. The whole experience with the waiter made us feel so uncomfortable and really irked us to the point where we decided to never go there again. If you're expecting to go to a restaurant where you have your privacy, be comfortable, not be hit on by the waiter and the waiter has respect and some manners, stay away from this restaurant, we definitely don't recommend it.
In response to the owner: I don't know how long the waiter with glasses have been working for you. I also don't know if it's the first time ever he's done it. It's possible that he made other women feel uncomfortable but they were embarrassed/ashamed to bring it up. I thought to myself if he doesn't feel ashamed of his behavior why should I feel bad to bring it up. It takes certain amount of boldness to bring these issues up. I wish I was bold enough to bring it up to his face but I was worried about him spitting in my food. I should have just left the restaurant right then and there. It's his audacity, comfort and confidence to do such behavior that I'm really bothered by. Why did the waiter without glasses have more manners and respect? Because he knows he's in the hospitality business and knows how to treat the customer right regardless of their gender (and we tipped only because of him), but obviously the one with glasses feel differently. Please make sure that he never ever makes another woman uncomfortable like that ever again, as it really is unacceptable. I really don't think I'll ever be going back because people never forget how you...
Read moreI saw some great reviews online and figured that I'd go ahead and check this out for myself, with the fiancee for some lunch earlier today.
We arrived for a pretty busy restaurant and sat down near the front in their first of two main rooms. Each features around 10-12 tables and is modestly decorated; looks a bit worn down in some areas but all in all, it's just your average looking restaurant with nothing special in it.
Our waiter arrived and asked us if we wanted drinks, poured us some water and we headed for the buffet. Upon arriving I had to try my best to mask some of my disappointment. There wasn't too much to it, and it featured a total of eight different dishes, two of which were rice and palak paneer. There was also a mixed vegetable curry, chicken tandoori, mint chicken and a couple more. Nothing too exciting and no butter chicken or chicken tiki masala. They also had a few samosas and some Kheer. That's pretty much it. I tried a bit of everything and mopped up some of the sauces with some naan bread, but all in all, I found most of it to be bland. No standout flavors here, just a lot of blandness. Everything was lukewarm at best and I never went back for seconds. Nothing exceeded expectations, and I'd be hard pressed to return. My wife-to-be agreed.
It's kind of a shame considering that they are in Waltham's South Side, on Moody Street which is a great location with plenty of street and lot parking and within walking distance for us. Oh and service was slow. Very, very slow and inattentive, especially considering that we do most of their work when ordering from the buffet. 20 minutes for my...
Read moreJust had their Butter Chicken and some Naan. Overall the experience was good. Great outdoor seating, friendly staff and nice store all around. Butter Chicken was pretty good, just not as creamy/savory as I hoped.
Also had their chicken tikka masala as the waitress recommended. I know tikka masala is very close to butter chicken. But I think the tikka masala while having more oil on top, tasted better.
Because of the pandemic, I couldn't try the buffet. But overall I give this restaurant 5 stars because I find the food here tasty. And will most likely comeback another time. 8.8/10 -- 6.3/10(New Rating: Read below)
Edit: (From 5 stars to 3 stars): After trying other Indian restaurants around the area. Little India has left me a bit disappointed in its quality and price. While its building and atmosphere suggests that it’s like a high-end restaurant from India. Its taste and quality do not... I hope Little India will improve after foot traffic picks up again. But overall, one star...
