My husband and I decided to have dinner here due to rave reviews since we were in the area.
First thing I noticed sitting down was the most tables already have a bread basket with cold stale bread in it.
We ordered fried calamari and stuffed eggplants for appetizers. The salmon massimo and the shrimp Alfredo.
The fried calamari came half naked, meaning the breading wasn’t sticking to more than half the calamari. The stuffed eggplants wasn’t the worse thing so I finished it since I was very hungry.
The shrimp Alfredo came with 5 medium size shrimp and a sauce and pasta that tasted like I can make it at home. He finished the shrimps and tried putting more cheese in the pasta with the sauce and it didn’t save it.
The salmon massimo was awful. I can tell the salmon was individual frozen slices that has been there for a while. I can taste how fishy it is from not being fresh. The way they plated the pasta was unappetizing with the sun dried tomato and mushroom sitting directly on the main part of the entree.
We didn’t finish the entree and took a few more bites afterwards to try to finish it but ended up leaving most of our entree behind because it wasn’t worth sacrificing our tastebuds for.
We left hungry and ended up ordering dinner on the way home at a spot closer to home.
Update: on the way home, both our stomach started turning. I have a more sensitive stomach than my husband but the fact his stomach started hurting too is a sign that the food isn’t clean. Eat...
Read moreIt's not a typical strip mall restaurant. We decided last minute to go here and were pleasantly surprised. Arrived just after opening and initially felt under dressed, but after the owner greeted us, we quickly forgot our discomfort as we took in the nicely decorated room and tables. The menu has plenty of options, including a list of specials plus a few items he mentioned that weren't listed but may have been because it was the Friday after Valentine's Day. We opted for the Veal Parm. My husband got the Clams Casino appetizer, which he said was the best he's ever had. The salad with house dressing was packed with veggies along with the lettuce, and the house dressing was definitely not from a bottle. My barley soup was flavorful as was everything we had. The large piece of veal was sliced thin, which may have made it not as tender as it could have been, but I still enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the seasoned mixed veggies I chose instead of the pasta. The tiramisu is a cake version but very good. That and the chocolate cake do have a liquor flavor added to them, which is strong but not overpowering to me, but may be for some. We will definitely return to try...
Read moreWent tonight for the first time to celebrate our anniversary after passing the place a million times. I was pleasantly surprised that the inside is much nicer than I anticipated as the location is in a little local strip mall. It’s small and quaint but clean and not crowded. Even the bathrooms were very clean. Everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We had calamari and clams casino for appetizers that were wonderful. The veal parmigiana was the best I’ve ever had and my husband had a veal special that was very tasty as well. For dessert was tiramisu and a chocolate mousse cake that was heavenly. All of it was homemade and fresh. What was even more amazing was that our meal was that good with the only 3 staff members! The owner was the chef/waiter/cashier and bus boy and still delivered an exceptional meal. Yes, we waited patiently as we are well aware of how hard it is to find any help these days, and it was very well worth the wait! Cannot...
