I wanna start off by saying, the people here are SO kind and I feel bad leaving a negative review, but I wanted to let you know my honest thoughts.
10/10 for atmosphere and staff! People here are so kind. My boyfriend and I are passing through and were so excited to find such a cute, local place! The decor is unique and cute, and the staff is incredibly friendly and kind.
Iām so sorry to leave a negative review, but the food and coffee was some of the worst weāve ever had. Weāre really disappointed, and surprised! Because the staff was so friendly, the place was decorated so well, and it is a unique spot. We thought for sure that the food and coffee would be great! Iām not sure if it was because it was busy, or maybe our order was a fluke, but the food and coffee was really, really horrible (Iām sorry)!
We ordered two lattes, even one with an extra espresso shot, and they tasted like just milk. We couldnāt taste the coffee. It kind of tastes like our lattes were made with drip coffee and were mostly milk. We couldnāt taste any espresso or coffee.
We ordered a lot of food- A bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich- which was two pieces of low quality bread, maybe half a fried egg, microwaved cheap bacon, and a sprinkle of cheese. It looked like it was just thrown together. It was more bread than anything else, and was very poor quality.
French toast- made with the same low quality bread and served with syrup in a container. It was just ok.
Breakfast burrito- my boyfriend ate this and said it was just ok. It was small, and he says it wasnāt any better than a generic, frozen burrito.
Cinnamon roll- this was the only thing that we enjoyed. The cinnamon rolls were great and had a lot of icing!
We always choose stopping at a local spot over going to a Panera or Dennys, and were so excited to find Between Friends Coffee while passing through! The people here were incredibly kind, I almost feel bad leaving a negative review. But ultimately you go to a coffee shop/restaurant for the coffee and food, and the food and coffee here was truly awful. We were actually shocked at how bad the quality of food and coffee was. If you stepped up your food & coffee, this would be a must-stop...

I will say the Staff deserves 5 stars for the attitude and helpfulness but with a lengthy menu of all sorts of different coffees you would think they would be able to produce a decent drink.
Went this morning for the first time, I ordered a craft latte (that did include an extra shot) but just received āsweet sickly steamed milkā and maybe a dribble of an espresso shot. My mom ordered a black Americano and when she opened her cup she literally thought she was given black tea instead. If youāre going to boast of the quality of cafe drinks you offer please have well trained baristas to keep the promise. Both drinks were trashed because they were undrinkable.
Breakfast sandwich was two pieces of dry regular toast with maybe half a cooked egg, cheese and 1 piece of bacon. The French toast were decent and probably the only thing we ordered with no complaints.
Sadly not worth the hype. Much work is needed before I return since I felt I wasted my $$
Secondly the last thing I want to hear while trying to eat at 8 AM is obnoxious loud patrons dragging on. Inside voices sir!
EDIT: to update since the owner was kind enough to reply. As you can see we are not the first customer to make issue with the taste and/or lack of taste in the barista drinks. I am no expert but I think I can tell a great drink from one that really lacks.
Americanos or even long blacks should be a 1 to 16 ratio and still have a rich dark color with a small bit of crema. The one we were served had NEITHER of these signature characteristics. Secondly the latte was just not drinkableā¦
At this point I donāt think itās about the beans that are used and how they are roasted and random comments on what my palate maybe accustomed to. If the skill and ability is not there then you get drinks that are over diluted and thrown awayā¦..one complaint is a fluke, several with the SAME ISSUE being...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend suggested we go here, but I thought he'd been here before, and he hadn't, so it was a new experience for both of us. While I was waiting for him to arrive, I saw on their window, that their cinnamon rolls were voted "the best". This sold me on what I wanted to eat. I hadn't had a good cinnamon roll in awhile. When we got inside to order, it should be mentioned that they do have a vast coffee selection, however, the only decaf option, I was told, came in the form of a pour-over. I also asked for it iced.
My friend and I decided to split the cinnamon roll, but it was so hard, it could barely be cut with a fork, and my coffee tasted like water with coffee flavored milk. My friend said his coffee was okay. I brought this to the attention of the (seemingly only) person working and they said it looked like the entire batch of cinnamon rolls were overbaked. It struck me as odd how that was overlooked, and if it wasn't, why they'd even serve them at that point.
The reason given for the coffee being watered down was due to me wanting it iced, but even if it's brewed hot, typically the amount of coffee would just be adjusted to accommodate for the additional liquid created by adding ice to balance out the strength. A simple oversight, or general misknowledge? Thankfully I was offered a refund for the cinnamon roll and my coffee.
As much initial hope as I had for this place, it sadly let me down. While the staff was friendly, the service warm, and atmosphere inviting, it didn't help when what I was really there for, good food and coffee, wasn't...
