Today was my first time trying Caffe Vignette. I've heard so many people rave about their coffee and I needed a pick me up for the day. The lines are a little weird but it was easily accessible. I googled the menu online, didn't see prices, pulled up to the menu...again... No prices... Waited about 20 minutes to get to the window, ordered 3 small coffees and a dozen biegnets and was told there were only 5 left so I'd have to wait 20 minutes for them. I agreed and then was given the total of FORTY DOLLARS!!! I almost feel like I was robbed. Are the coffees 10 bucks a piece?! Are the donuts 20 bucks a dozen?! I'm confused on what I spent 40 bucks on....I have no clue what I even paid for. I did not get a receipt for my order and waited so long in the line already that I just swallowed the lump and paid. I was asked to pull over and wait for the donuts and ended up sitting there for 30 minutes before receiving my order. My total time at the Caffe was an hour, for 3 coffees (small) and a dozen donuts. Not to mention the female inside with red hair, and what looked like a white or grey streak in the front, had a horrible attitude about having to make more donuts. I'm not sure why they weren't making more when they still had 2 hours to closing and only 5 left but..... She was sitting on her phone, it has a blue case, and slammed it down on the table when the cashier told her she needed a dozen and said, well she's gonna have to wait, it'll be at least 20 minutes and rolled her eyes. Again... This was my first time here. Service was awful, wait times are incredibly too long but the pastries were to die for and the coffee was delicious!! If it were a little better managed it would be a 5 star Caffe 100% Definitely needs a little organization though. I probably won't be back considering I somehow spent 40 dollars on those items with zero knowledge of any of...
Read moreI saw this post on a local community Facebook page. There were many similar comments to the one pictured—staff’s poor attitude and long wait times. The response from the cafe was the same copied and pasted—order online and go through the fountain lane for faster service. I wanted to give it a try for myself. On Friday, I ordered ahead at 2:15pm. My original order pick up was changed by the business from 2:45pm to 3:15. I arrived right at 3:15 and waited behind a car in the fountain lane. In the other lane, there were three more cars who were served before the fountain lane. I waited in line for about 20 minutes past my pick up time. When I finally got to the window, the lady served an extremely poor attitude to my patronage. Despite that experience, my family enjoyed the New Orleans beignets, so we placed another order of beignets and beverages that Friday night to be picked up on Father’s Day morning at 8:15 to celebrate. Saturday morning, the pick up time was again changed by the business to 8:45. It was the same lady at the window, with the same poor attitude. The beverages were subpar! The kids drinks did not look like the picture, it came with a dumdum rather than the lollipop shown in the picture, and literally tasted like just milk. The other drinks were mediocre, too. This time we got the variety 40 pc beignets, and they were tasty. Overall, the lady’s attitude is the only reason we will never return. She was uninviting, inhospitable, and unprofessional. She needs training in customer...
Read moreI visited yesterday at 3:30 and asked for beignets. I was told they couldn't make any just for one order. I go back today and order them. These beignets smell like wet dog, as if they've been cooked in the same oil they started with when they opened the store. They taste like fried bread instead of pastries and also like the dough has been sitting out and has gotten hard. They're all the size of strawberries, which is weird considering the pictures uploaded with people's reviews and the pictures on the website show them being a lot bigger. If i could give a negative rating I would.
Answer to owner: I NEVER said the oil tasted like something else had been cooked in it, i said it tasted OLD. A beignet is a french squared DONUT made from choux PASTRY dough. So if you're advertising beignets, you do indeed sell DONUTS. Also I'm FROM and LIVE in New Orleans, so i DEFINITELY know good beignets. Now just because your mix MAY be delivered from LA doesn't make it a GOOD mix and it doesn't mean you guys are cooking them well. I think you have THE WORST beignets I've ever had and I've had the ones from Cracker Barrel. That's MY opinion, but Parrish on Cherry has beignets just like ones is New Orleans. Maybe you should give...
