I'm newer to the Indian food scene, and am still learning my way around a menu at places like this. I've had a lot of exposure over the past few years and kind of know what to look for when ordering and choosing a place to eat.
This place has been on my short list because it gets really solid reviews. Due to the location, I'm never really in the area, so I finally was and made a point of stopping in today to check it out.
The menu's a fusion menu. They have Indian and Asian style food. They have lunch and dinner entree's so I was excited to try something out. They had the usual menu items of Tandoori chicken, Butter Chicken, Biryani dishes and such. I thought I'd try something new and get the Tandoori chicken with Naan.
My food came out and it was fabulous! Boy was it not only good looking, but tasted excellent as well! I got the lunch portion since I didn't want to be weighed down afterwards since I had stuff to do.
The naan was excellent. I really loved it and could have eaten more if I had the chance. Also, the gentleman who helped me was super friendly and nice. I had a few questions but he was extremely knowledgeable about things like how spicy is spicy, what comes with my dish, etc. I really appreciated his knowledge as it made a difference not only in my experience here, but how I ordered as well. Things like not feeling rushed, giving me an honest answer and general knowledge of dishes and spice levels.
Overall, a fabulous place to grab a good bite to eat. See, not all Indian restaurants are created equal. Some are better at certain things, while others are not. I guess it all depends on what your looking for and want. Prices here are fair and on point, so I want to give them that. My only suggestion is that I wish they had a lunch buffet of some sort. I noticed a buffet area on the wall, but they...
Read moreIf you're in the mood for authentic Indian Bangladeshi Thai cuisine, look no further than Daawat. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the warm and inviting ambiance of the restaurant. The decor was tasteful and stylish.
The menu was extensive, with a wide range of appetizers, entrees, and desserts to choose from. I started with the samosas, which were perfectly crispy and stuffed with a delicious blend of spiced potatoes and peas. For my main course, I ordered the chicken tikka masala, a classic Indian dish that did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was rich and creamy with just the right amount of spice.
My dining companion ordered the lamb biriyani, which had a generous amount of tender lamb in a flavorful sauce that had a nice level of heat. The naan bread was fresh and warm, and the rice was perfectly cooked.
To top it off, we ordered the mengo lassi for dessert. It was a sweet and syrupy treat that was the perfect end to our meal.
The service at Daawat was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.
Overall, I would highly recommend Daawat for anyone looking for delicious, authentic South Asian cuisine in a comfortable and welcoming environment. The quality of the food, the attentive service, and the warm ambiance make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a great...
Read moreWhy it’s so hard for Indian restaurants to serve quality food in Michigan ??! Put a halal tag & serve whatever you like, right?! We ordered Beef biriyani, Shrimp biriyani, Chicken biriyani and Kachchhi Biriyani and Deshi sheekh kabab with naan. Rice of the biriyani tested same In biriyani even though prices & names were different! On site it’s written seekh kabab will be cooked in clay oven but it was no where near to clay oven cooked sheek kabab. I’ve provided you pictures of biriyani and you can see that color of rice same only differently named & high price. Anyone, who’s from Indo-pak knows these dishes are no where close to authentic biriyani. Even street vendors food from these regions are better than food you are serving! It’s so disappointing that you people are fooling customers who hasn’t tested authentic biriyani and think you’re providing a good service!! All I have to say, have some ethics! You guys raised 1$ per item even though you’re selling it using same rice with different protein. You’re saying you serve HALAL while you very well know that this is not HALAL way to do any business. Cheating in business...
