I feel bad writing this because I think they may have been short staffed, but the place wasn't busy. There was only 1 other table sat with 2 people when we arrived. Came on a Friday around 12 PM. We were a party of 5. Either way, we had to get our own menu's and silverware out of the host stand. Took 10+ minutes to take drink order. Took drink & food order at the same time. Had to go up to the bar to see if we could get any type of drink because they put chips & salsa on the table, but didn't bring any drinks for another 10+ minutes. Drinks were wrong. Food was fine. Two chicken quesadillas ordered & both barely had chicken/cheese. Asked for sour cream on the side, server decided that meant no sour cream? Also asked for rice, never received any. Other orders were pretty much right, minus ordered no beans & getting beans. Took well over an hour for the whole lunch. Be careful because gratuity is INCLUDED in your bill. For just a poorly made chicken quesadilla & soda - $26.50 (this includes gratuity of 20% that was added to the bill). When you pay they print the receipt with a tip line as well. Unfortunately, will not...
Read moreHonestly you're better off going to Taco Bell cause the place is so white-washed and has such Americanized Mexican food. La Bistec Tampiqueña came with so many bell peppers that that should've been the first sign of how much they changed their menu cause actual Mexican food doesn't use bell peppers. When we asked for some cebollitas they brought out a plate with chopped up, grilled red onion. They claimed that they never gave the platter with cebollitas which is a first for a "Mexican" restaurant. The country music was also an odd choice for the musical accompaniment to the dinner. The best part about the experience was the service and the wait staff which is unfortunately because the primary reason one goes to eat at a restaurant is not to enjoy the wait staff. I'm pretty sure any and all the positive reviews on this place are attributed to the restaurants previous...
Read moreFantastic food, drink & service. This is our 3rd visit so can vouch for consistency as well. We wear six across 3 generations and 5 stars all around. We started with perfect cantina style crispy tortillas, added house margaritas and punctuated with delicious food. We’ve tried a few different things but a big fan favorite were the tortas - big portions, great bread and balanced fillings (I went with chorizo). Such delightful staff that were there just when we needed something. Very surprised that this place isn’t crowded - I suspect it’s in a tough location. Come out and let’s give them the love...
