We have been regulars for nearly 10 years. In fact, before the Pandemic, we ate here 3 to 4 times a month. We would often take out of town guests here. There was always a certain spark back in the day....super scratch made food, servers that were cool and knew their beers and above all, an ambiance of employees who enjoyed their work and customers.
For 6 months we've repeatedly tried to give this place another shot with hopes of it reviving itself. The food has frankly been hit or miss. Not to mention the increase in prices and pitifully small portioned hordeurvres. Today however, was the last straw and you finally lost us.
Today we had a server that not only had long filthy finger nails, but zero knowledge of how to serve and clear. In fact, the clearing part never happened at our table. And when other guests left, their plates remained while he returned to a booth to sit and look at his phone. I tried twice to get a clean/dry glass without greasy fingerprints and finally gave up. Our hordeurvres (the few that were actually on the plate) had spent too much time in the fryer and we waited 30 minutes for our food despite the restaurant being nearly empty. We had to ask what was up with our order....he was off on his phone. The food was cold when it finally arrived.
All in all, this is just sad. The old employees felt like friends and went out of their way. It was really fun and there were protocols being followed. I never remember a past time when what a server was wearing or that their hair was unkempt was ever something that stood out. However, can we talk about presentation and clothing choices? Comfortable is one thing, but wearing rumpled loungewear and ill fitting yoga pants doesn't make for a very hygienic impression on customers.
It's all disappointing, because this used to be such a fun place for our family to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI returned here after 8 years, and was quite impressed with how consistently delicious the food was. I believe the menu has changed slightly, but in a good way. Though it goes without asking that the beer is fantastic, Iād like to focus this review on the food.
The service was professional, and not overwhelming, akin to what you would expect from fine-diningāthis made for a pleasant and care-free family dinner, where we were able to converse and enjoy our food.
I chose the Candied Bacon Pizza (made to order), which was full of flavor and absolutely tasted of freshly-prepped dough. A+. My wife had the Coconut Curry dish, which was absolutely loaded with healthy ingredients and the right mix of curry and herbs.
Lastly, childrenās menus are usually a tricky item to master for restaurants, but not here! My son was presented a real burger, complete with a sizable and fresh beef patty on a gourmet bun. Again, this is something you donāt see often, attention to quality across both the adult and childrenās menu.
This is one of those rare times when you eat a substantial meal, but you know the ingredients were pure, so you feel great! Itās nice to see a brewery that clearly puts the same effort in to its delicious beers, as it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHow often do you drive 20 minutes to have dinner in an industrial park? For me, there is only one answer to this: to go to Two Brothers Tap House. Hidden away in a corner of a manufacturing area is this wonderful restaurant. It is located there because it is where they also make Two Brothers beer. I'm don't drink beer ... I'm there for the food.
First, let me talk about the Tap House burger. It is super, super messy, but also super, super yummy. It is also quite spicy, so if you don't like spicy, don't order it. The combination of the spiciness, a perfectly done medium-rare patty, and whatever wonderful sauces they put on it, it is just fabulous.
We also go the coconut curry which is very good. It looks like brown goo with chicken on it but it is very tasty and I think pretty healthy (as a burger fan, I don't know much about that).
And finally there is the fried plantain which is my idea of eating fruit. Perfectly done.
Finally, the ambiance. It is also somewhat industrial, mostly decorated with posters of their beers. They play indie rock/folk which I quite enjoy.
You'll need your GPS to find the place, but if you do you won't be...
