I’m not one to rag on restaurant workers, as I am one myself. I have managed multiple restaurants with skeletal crews. I haven’t seen a restaurant in this much distress since my time at Checkers & Rally’s… My family and I walked in, took three minutes to be seated in a Dining Room that was almost filled to its legal capacity, noise was unbearable, not to the fault of staff. That isn’t something they have total control over! However!!! When seated, one server greeted us, asked us our drink order then brought them. Okay, alls well there. Then another server came and took our food order, I’m sorry I thought servers had dedicated sections.
Servers were all over the place two at one table and one taking care of five tables… Like what? Where is the management? I understand have your Back of House management taking care of the Kitchen but, when you are the only MOD you need to watch your Front of House too.
My main concerns:
Why was my family served by three different servers?
Why were servers disorganized and running around like chickens with a cut off head?
Why did my family’s food take over 40 minutes to prepare? Then come out horribly… Plated well, but taste was not all that! Also, Kitchen manager need to do rim checks on the plates, no plates should be served with dirty rims regardless of their industry standards.
Upon closer inspection of the Kitchen I noticed a couple of things that need to be addressed.
Preparation tables needed cleaned, this isn’t something to skip on. This is food safety people.
Equipment was clean but the oven looked a little rough around the edges, nothing wrong with old equipment, as long as they work and hold temp properly and not drop into the TDZ (Temperature Danger Zone)
Also, I under restaurant staff is rough to come by but, why were there three people running the Kitchen but like five servers on the floor? Servers should be cross trained to assist the Kitchen staff when necessary…
Also, a server should NEVER offer to clean a table with an active guest sitting at the table… Proper etiquette…
This isn’t my first visit here, all my prior visits were wonderful although I haven’t visited since my dear friend Gabby left. None of what I say is to offend management, it is to assist them in the betterment for their store and their guests. Please do not take offense to this, use it as a method of communication from guest...
Read moreMy husband and I drove an hour from home to eat pizza because I grew up eating Hometown until they closed in my home town. So we were excited. We have eaten at this location twice. We have never had a problem. We ordered a salad, garlic cheese bread, and a half pepperoni/half bbq chicken large thin crust pizza. They brought out a thick crust pizza. I asked our server if it was thin. She said, yes. We started to eat it. We both concluded it was far too fluffy to be thin. We’ve had their thin crust every time. So I went up and asked the server if they recently changed their crust. She went and asked and told me no. She looked on the computer screen and said she put it in as thin. She was a little blunt and rude so I just left it alone. She never offered to remake it, nor did she ever tell the truth. She continued to lie to my face instead of correcting her mistake. When I received the receipt, it said nowhere on it the crust type. I’ve just never had a server lie like that when I knew with no doubt that the pizza given to us was thick crust. It was disappointing...
Read moreVery disappointed in this Hometown Pizza. The hostess/waitress seemed aggravated when we arrived and pointed us to a booth, brought the menus asked what we'd have, hadn't even looked at the menu yet. One of our party has OCD, likes to go last in everything. That seemed to bother her. But the icing on the cake was when my husband found a blonde hair in his pizza (we all have dark hair) she came over and looked at slice with the hair sticking out under the toppings. She had a kind of "so what" look on her face I asked if she could see it, she said yeah it could be remade if we wanted. No sorry, excuse our mistake, made me feel like it was our fault for finding it. Wouldn't have left tip except for she did keep us in drinks all our visit. Upon leaving did notice the cooks without gloves or wearing hair nets. Light fixtures over tables had spider webs on them and blinds need a good cleaning. Where is the health dept. when you need them. Won't be visiting this location for a long while. Shame it's...
